The Philadelphia Inquirer, citing a NL executive, says the Phillies are close to acquiring Steve Finley from the Diamondbacks. The Phils are believed to be offering Marlon Byrd. Another source cited in the same article, however, said the Dodgers are the current favorites for Finley. The MLB trade deadline is Saturday, but Finley is believed to have imposed his own deadline of Thursday. If he hasn't been dealt by then, he wants to talk to the D'Backs about an extension. Byrd seems like a pretty damn steep price for finley imo.
