  1. Everett, Hooper, and Molnar all still undrafted.
  2. 19. Frank Califano, CF, Youngstown State Played one year of college. 19 sbs, 9 cs, and .819 ops. Okay then.
  3. 18. Dante Flores, 2B, USC. Drafted out of high school originally. #466 overall prospect this year by Baseball America. Seems like a solid pick.
  4. 3rd in the sec in hrs, 7th in slugging %, 10th in rbi, 8th in doubles, 3rd in walks, 9th in ks. He'll be a fun one to watch.
  5. 17. Jeffrey Orvis, Ole Miss, 1B, senior 19th round last year after being named 1st team sec. Went back to school. Seems like his bat can play a bit and has power. 1b picks make for Meh prospects though.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 12:11 PM) Great Falls Voyagers ‏@gfvoyagers 57s57 seconds ago With their 16th round pick, #472 overall, the #WhiteSox have selected RHP Brandon Quintero from Cal State Los Angeles! Can't find anything on him pretty much. He did strike out 12.3 per 9 in Division 2. So there's that.
  7. Article on Comito from the Des Moines register mentions the White Sox as scouting him hard. Also says he's likely going to school unless he went in the firest 7 rounds.
  8. Chris Comito, P, HS Is this our over slot guy? Hard to say. Not on BA's top 500, which you think he would be if he was.
  9. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 11:47 AM) Latest pick just had a .207/.270/.293 line for Lamar Community College. What in the hell is the point of that. At least go for some college performers. You're looking at a differn player, same name
  10. 13. Tyler Sullivan, CF, Pacific, Sr. Not drafted last year, not a ba top 500 guy. .857 ops last year
  11. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) Ryan Riga LHP Ohio State. Decent numbers. 3.12 ERA in B1G Had a 31 scoreless inning streak. Not a BA top 500 guy.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) There rarely is much to get excited about on day 3 of the draft unless you are taking a guy that has fallen because he will be a tough sign so that isn't surprising. Eh it's more exciting with how it's set up these days to see a run on seniors or high schoolers that you can try to sign.
  13. Zavala also was not in BP's 500. .952 OPS with 14 hrs this past season. Not too much to get excited about.
  14. Dopico wasn't in BA's top 500. He had 57 ks though in 45 innings as a closer.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Wouldn't be surprised to see Byler be first off the board today, but I hope he's there when the Sox pick. No surprise. Byler was indeed the first person off the board today Sox select Danny Dopico, pitcher from FIU
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 10, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) Austin Byler is a guy I like. Especially at this point. Probably a 1B but big power, walks, and K's. Wouldn't be surprised to see Byler be first off the board today, but I hope he's there when the Sox pick.
  17. Throwing some names out there, ignoring most of the top hs talent that I doubt we can sign: 1. Austin Byler, 3B, Nevada- phenomenal numbers at Nevada for all 4 years he was there. Senior so not much negotiating power. Surprised he isn't off the board. 9th round pick last year, but was projected to go in the 2nd/3rd so he didn't sign. Still will probably cost him money. Either way he'd be a legit prospect with the bat, somewhat rare for a later round college pick. 2. Elih Marrero, C, HS- Eli's kid. Doubt he needs the money and has a lot of negotiating power then. But seems more polished than most HS catchers and you have to like his chances being brought up by his dad. 3. Michael Boyle, P, Radford: great year at radford. 92 mph fastball with a slider and change. Unusual mechanics probably drop his stock a bit and make him a strong candidate to be drafted by the Sox.
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 11:40 PM) ref BPA... i agree in the difference however the term everyone uses is bpa. either way, i was totally wrong for my b****ing. peace. I don't think you were necessarily wrong. It really wasn't an exciting day for us. It just had to do more with our position/pool more than anything though. If I had to grade our picks so far, which admittedly is really tough without seeing the plan for day 3 or knowing the money: 1. Fulmer- A. Best pitcher in the draft. No complaints from seemingly anyone. Should be for slot. 4. Erwin- D. I think everyone was pretty much frustrated with this pick and for good reason. A lower ceiling lefty with our second pick isn't going to excite much of anyone. I would think slightly below slot. 5. Stephens- B+. Better than our 4th round pick. If he can get his stuff back to pre-TJ level, he should become a legitimate prospect. Great value for a 5th rounder. Signing today, so perhaps slightly lower than slot. 6. Zangari- B. His power seems like one of the better tools in the draft. You have to love that. He seems like a complete mess otherwise, but still a fine pick for here. Hope they can try him around the field and see if he sticks somewhere other than 1b. Slot pick. 7. Hickman- A. This was by all accounts the Sox guy, and they got him a lot later than he was projected to go. Great pick. You have to like his chances being a raw college arm going into a program he's familiar with and one that can develop pitchers. Slot pick. 8. Schroeder- C+. Needed a college catcher so it's a fine pick for that. Has some power. Probably won't amount to much, but that's more on the Sox. Slot pick. 9. Hinchley- D-. Total filler signing that was done to go way under slot and appease some local people. He'll sign for 10k. 10. Glines- B+. Grade highly dependent on how much he signs for. If he's a 10k range signing (presumably is) then it's a great pick. Great value for a guy who has some awesome stats and decent tools.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:22 PM) Springer needs to go complain to his cousin, Jerry. Guys like Springer aren't good enough to throw fits on the road. Robertson is gonna get the benefit of the doubt on some pitches cause he's good, and he's a pro. Springer with the tantrum and the out. I imagine hell be on a short lease with the umps tomorrow.
  20. I wish Springer was facing the Giants tonight and I could see his reactions then
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) Rodon! Abreu! Bullpen! Qualls
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) Rodon! Abreu! Bullpen! melky
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) No problem with him not making Robertson start the 9th. With Robertson pitching last night, I'd rather ensure he's ready to go tomorrow if Duke does his job. Agreed. Something needs to be done about the roster though if they can't use Guerra there and also have noesi taking up room. DFA noesi
