Jon Garland traded for Orlando Cabrera
QUOTE(BMac Attack @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) Jon always just seemed like more of a California guy anyway... seriously though I've got to agree with the people saying this is for something bigger. Possible draft compensation seems like a silly reason to pull the trigger on this deal, this early in the offseason. Right now I'm shaking my head, but I've gotta believe more news is coming down in the coming few days. How could this be setting up for something bigger? Maybe for the Angels, sure. But Garland has way more value on the trade market than Cabrera I would think. So where does that lead us?

Sorry I'm in late on this but: 1. How much money are we getting? 2. Are we getting anything else?

Well, it's better than what I initially thought when I read the post preview of "Jon Garland traded for Orlando..."

Hey, I'll get in on the TF2 bashing. As I said about ten pages back, it's the most disapointing game I have ever played. I paid 45$ to play the beta early as I was in extreme hype mode. But I hate it. Despise it. Will never go back to it. Unplayable. If I had it in disk form I would break it in half. Which is unfortunate, as I waited, very, very paitiently for 9 years for the game. But after 9 years of playing TF 1.5, I simply cannot play TF2. It's a piece of crap. But still, plenty of people like it. I just do not.

New Orleans beats NC State. I leave Friday for Vegas to watch the Las Vegas Invite. UNC vs. UL should be a good one.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 03:56 AM) How's that? I was very impressed with the way Rose was being used. I said a few pages back that I thought Rose would finally be the one to come into Memphis and change their pull-up-and-shoot offense. He hasn't done that, he's just fit in. Rose has 11 turnovers and 4 assists(.36 a/to ratio) over his last few games with a lot of points in between. Calipari has certainly changed the unselfish, pure-point perception I had of Derrick. Arizona vs. Virginia is on CSN for anyone who wants to watch.

I have come to the conclusion that Calipari has ruined Rose. Sad.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 03:01 AM) ...Certainly more so than Metroid Prime or Tekken 3. How are they on there? Ever play MP? Why wouldn't it be on there? MP is the most critically acclaimed game of all-time, no doubt(Well, technically, that would be OoT according to the site, but MP had 3 times the amount of reviews). I have no doubt there is not a game out there with more of a unamimous love then there is for MP. What the developers pulled off there was, well, amazing. As for Zelda, it's not a RPG. And it's still the most heralded gaming series out there, even more so than Metroid, Final Fantasy, and Metal Gear Solid. What would you put above OoT in terms of greatest games ever? I can only think of a few acceptable answers, and a lot of those are from pre-review days. The fighting genre is one regarded as the best genre out there by the gaming media(Or at least it was throughout the 90s and early 2000s). Never played or heard much from Tekken 3, but SC is a game I have always seen in r discussions about the best games ever. No surprise it's on there.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) I don't even think it's the best game in the series. That list of top 10 rated games is b.s. to begin with. I mean, The Orange Box is in there. Why wouldn't it be? At least the PC version. 360 version probably shouldn't be close to up there. Every other game there, Metroid Prime, SM64, OoT(Widely regarded as the best game in the series[And best game of all-time for that matter], although like you not my favorite), HL2, Soul Calibor, and RE4 are pretty much "the games" when you start a discussion on the best game of all-time. I think we're going to see that with Galaxy too. It's incredible.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 17, 2007 -> 09:11 AM) Fantastic last play by Hawaii, lol. Illinois wins. They tried calling TO I think, refs ignored them. Those could have been the worst reffing crew I have ever seen. They once gave the ball to Hawaii after calling it out of bounds on them. There were so many nonexistant fouls in there too. And a horrible, horrible goaltending call as well.

This is hilarious. Illini make a little run as the Hawaii football team wins and they are showing the game in the basketball stadium. The crowd is going absolutely bananas and then the Hawaii announcers go nuts for how stupid it is to show the game during the basketball game.

Man shoots burglars while on phone with cops
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/e/5303222.html Wow, I don't know what to say. They were robbing his neighbors house and he killed them. " This clearly is going to stretch the limits of the self-defense law." Indeed.

Cheater Bonds Indicted!
QUOTE(Linnwood @ Nov 16, 2007 -> 12:54 AM) ESPN's sports analysis is worthless, and that is supposed to be what they are in the business of doing. I think I'll get my legal analysis elsewhere. Legal analysis. Not sports analysis. The guy was right on in the Vick case as well as the Duke case. No reason not to trust him.

Tennessee-Martin junior guard Lester Hudson recorded what is believed to be the first quadruple-double in Division I men's basketball history on Tuesday night. The 6-foot-3 Hudson scored 25 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, had 10 assists and 10 steals in 31 minutes in a 116-74 victory over Central Baptist College.

I watched a lot of it PH. Funny thing is, I thought it was a replay. Not used to HS all star games this early. Lance Stephenson, he's the one from Brooklyn, right? He was amazing, best player on the court when I was watching. Of course, he was mainly pulling off street ball moves, but he is going to be BIG TIME. Tyreke Evans, as you said, just unstoppable. BJ Mullins, wow, talk about your deceptive athlete. One look at him and you wouldn't think he's much. But he threw down a couple nice dunks last night(That alley-oop, wow). I was impressed.
