QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) A.J. Stewart says it's pretty much a lock he's going to Kentucky over Illinois, per Rivals. The Bruce magic continues. Stop now. The fact that Weber even made Illinois into having a chance at Stewart is nothing short of amazing. The kid absolutly bleeds blue and white. Want proof? Well, there is a reason that the illiniboard.com forums, famous for their meltdowns, could absolutly care less upon hearing about this news. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) So in other words, don't listen to the public, but trust everything you say. Yeah right. That works. I never said you had to trust me. I'm just saying believing every news bit to come out of this story is just idiotic.
-
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 03:58 AM) Sure that fits right along with this... I'm sure his HS coach knew nothing of the information you seem to be locked into. Makes perfect sense. I would not believe anything coming from the public in this situation. This is college basketball recruiting, remember? Everyone will just try to save face. And if anyone actually believes that committing the day of Indiana Midnight Madness was not a scripted ending, I have to say that you are clearly blind.

To clear something up, Gordon has been silently committed to IU for weeks now, although made no mention of this to anyone in the Illinois program. I've learned in some even greater detail about the story, and I can't help but think Gordon Sr is a slime ball as is Sampson for how he handled the situation. I've also learned the exact details behind KU's probation from a KU booster. Pretty funny story if anyone wants to hear it.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) Not really. If it was mostly about coaching over talent, then how come the vast majority of talent wins out in the NCAA? Only team that did anything was George Mason. That's the only team ever. No one can possibly tell me, that the Illini, with the way its recruiting is going, is national championship contender material, nor are they final four material. Illinois certainly has better than mid-major talent. The comparison was ridiculous. Anyway, it is more than possible to win without great recruiting, although it certainly helps. Heck, Maryland won the whole thing without any burger boys on their roster.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 14, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Missouri State should be better than UNI this year and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they finish higher than the Shocks either. Now if Hinson can actually get the Bears to the NCAA's this year, who knows but that team should be pretty darn good. If I had to guess right now though, I'd say: Creighton, SIU, Missouri State and Wichita State all get into the tournament this year. Taking Wichita State to the final 4 was my only blemish in my otherwise perfect bracket last year, but I have just as much confidence in them this year as I did with them last year. They are a top 15 team for sure, even with the loss of Paul Miller. Their only problem is a lack of hieght, as I don't believe they have a ready contributer over 6'8 this year. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 03:46 AM) You should be feeling lucky your a big name school. Smaller name ones have gotten 1 to 3 year postseason bans for offenses less serious. " Today the NCAA found many serious offenses committed by the University of Kentucky basketball program. As a result, Cleveland State will get the death penalty."

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) KU lost one scholarship for next year which they can defer to the 08-09 season..Nothing huge, big time talents still coming. Thanks, Roy you f***in jackass You can thank Bill Self too. Darnell Jackson was his recruit.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 01:35 AM) HEY!!! YOU KNOW WHAT!! I'VE HAD IT WITH EVERYONE ON THIS SITE. GOODBYE!! See you tommorrow.

Speaking of Gordon, I'm hearing good word he is going to Illinois' Midnight Madness. Doesn't look so bad for them now, does it?
-
I don't know if this has to to with the hacking or anything, but I keep getting security warnings when I click into certain threads( like Page 64 of the White Sox Catch-All thread). I've never seen them on this site before so I don't really know why they are appearing.

Come on THOMAS!!!!

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 11:13 PM) He's going to IU, and everyone knows it. I highly doubt it. The only things we have that say this are lame unamed sources. The only person willing to throw his name out there(Mark Tupper) with the story said it is about 90-10 that Gordon goes to Illinois. Seems to me Illinois fans simply can't believe this because they've been locked into a state of pessimism.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) If that is true, whomever comfirmed he was the pilot is a total asshole. Would that be Joe Torre? IIRC, Joe Torre only confirmed what was thrown out there as a rumor at the time.
-
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) They are discussing the possible postponement of both games tonight on ESPN. It won't happen IMO.

QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) CNN is reporting he was the only person on board the plane... they say there was no instructor on board. That means the three people who died were in the building at the time of the accident... thats horrible I wouldn't believe any of that yet. The 4 dead seems to be right, but different outlets seem to be reporting different amounts on board.
-
As you probably already know, there was a small private plane crash into a building earlier today in New York. According to CNN, that plane belonged to Cory Lidle. Prayers out to all involved in this situation.

Detroit getting a bit lucky tonight.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Oct 10, 2006 -> 02:41 AM) Ted Dibiase = Hypocrite. This religion-brainwashed nut bashed the WWF/E for years because of their content, launch his own organization (WXO???,) and said he would never work for Vince. I guess everybody does have a price. It was cool to hear his music though. Are you sure? I realize he launched his own religous based brand. Heck, even a few WWE stars like Shawn Michaels even work it. But from what I remember, he has always worked for WWE since his "retirement" either as a road agent or something else.

Man, I remeber the days I spent absolutly hating on IRS. Odd seeing him as a face.

That was a great entrance by Booker. He is absolutly awesome. "Hold on, peasant." LOLOLOL Then Cena decides to ruin it by not being funny again. READY 2 RUMBLE!!! Did I mention I love Booker?

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 9, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) http://sportsyenta.blogspot.com/2006/10/er...-headed-to.html Take it for what its worth. ST is not as gullible as Peegs or the IB, but I'll debunk this guy's credibility anyway by posting what I posted at the aforementioned sites: Of course, neither the IB or Peegs listened to me. They all backed this guy's credibility with things like "But he posts about football and baseball too". And? What does that have to do with IU or UI basketball.

QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Oct 9, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) So as i'm sure no one is surprised but there will be a Moolah & Mae Young appearance on the "RAW Family Reunion" Special...and Kane was slated to lose the "Loser Leaves RAW" Match...but it's been going back and forth all week and supposedly it's not clear if the loser will go to Smackdown or ECWWE Kane will be out 'til February from what I understand. Anyway, is anyone else surprised at the lack of info about tonight's Raw? All we have is one confirmed match, and nothing else, not even something about some sort of confrontation. We get ten times the amount of pre-info before a two hour Raw.
