  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) When do you think you'll give it up? Just wondering. I mean at some point I hope you come to terms that the game is over and there is nothing you can accomplish by arguing over this. They are not going to go back and change anything that happened so my advice would be to just enjoy the rest of the dance and chill out. Because ignoring the situation and letting the NCAA get away with things like this is much better.
  2. That is my point fathom. Something needs to be done about it, but nothing will happen. The NCAA will continue to sit on its hands and do nothing about it.
  3. Fix or no fix, the NCAA and their stance on reffing is still an atrocity. Can anyone explain why Shows was placed on this specific game?
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) Mike Davis: "I thought it was a great officiated game. We just shot a lot of three's. They went inside and we fouled them. I was really pleased with the officiating." And?
  5. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) What does this accomplish? Oh, I don't know. Maybe finally gettting the NCAA to notice that their reffing program needs a definite overhaul in all aspects of the game. But no, I guess we should all just sit back and continually let games decided by referees.
  6. I just find it odd that one of the more infamous refs ever, Doug Shows, was doing the game. Soon as I heard he was doing it priot to the game, I knew something was or will be up. I mean, come on. What does guy like Shows have a job for in the first place, let alone a key NCAA tournament game. How does the NCAA validate him reffing this when the ACC has banned him from ever reffing an ACC game again and had a very public run-in with the SEC just this year. There is absolutly no reason to explain him doing this game. I don't even like Illinois much, but that is just ridiculous. Shows shouldn't even have a job and hopefully won't after this debacle.
  7. I think all(meaningful ones, anyway) NCAA games are fixed to a certain extent, and stuff like this needs to be stopped. Its helped Illinois before(see: UofA game last year) and it's hurt them(See:today) but one thing is for sure: it's getting ridiculous.
  8. Cuba. My pre-tournament pick remains the same.
  9. Shouldn't that be enough for the Cubs to just say HELL NO.
  10. Clemens may be making his last ever start.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 05:11 AM) I smell an upset of March Madness proportion... A Last seed has never beaten a first seed ya know.
  12. I just don't get why the Cubs do this sort of thing. Is delaying the news a week or two going to make Prior's arm better?
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 05:57 AM) Flash, contrary to your belief that everyone is either a scrub or "wetting the bed," baseball is the most unpredictable game out there. Even the best team in history can lose to a clearly inferior team. Nobody should be at all surprised that the US is losing to Korea. But nobody should leave these games thinking Korea is a superior team, despite their undefeated record so far. I'd call Dontrelle Willis on "wetting the bed"
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 04:24 AM) I actually think he'll be the starting 2nd baseman when the season ends. I'm really high on this guy. And I may be high for saying this. Well, hopefully you are. Not sure he can be the run producer that Iguchi is capable of being.
  15. Why not just start showing it in the 3rd inning, after the other game? I don't see whats so bad about that. Then show it in it's entirety later. They are showing some live look ins on SC though. Vernon Wells just K'd with the bases loaded. With that said, anyone know if Comcast Users get Deportes?
  16. QUOTE(SouthsideBlitz @ Mar 14, 2006 -> 03:23 AM) Saw that myself, I frown when player's do something like that. I see your from the OP.
  17. The bats of Venezuela bats have been quiet as of late. I like Puerto Rico to keep rolling.
  18. Thanks, Dep. This was exactly what I was looking for. I'll be rotating these.
  19. 1. Puerto Rico- Impressive All Around 2. Cuba- Still my pick to win it all 3. USA- They should get on a roll right about now 4. Dominican- Fell down a couple spots. I don't like how they got dominated yesterday 5. Korea- Undefeated, but haven't really played anyone. Could very well stil advance 6. Japan- They should be better than their record 7. Venezuela- The hitting is very lacking 8. Mexico- Won't have enough to compete with the big boys
  20. Funny, Korea's first three batters and five of their first six have last names of Lee.
