  1. Me don't like that he won't be playing OF. Oh well, we need that bat anyway.
  2. QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) Thank goodness we won. I didn't want 10 more threads on we need to fire Ozzie..Pheww Then you will have to live with 10 more threads on Mr. Chavez. Kind of a lose/lose situation.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) ... Sarcasm.....
  4. Eric is a solid 3rd baseman, but best ever? Nah. I'm partial to Eddie Matthews myself.
  5. What exactly are we plotting? And Honestly, I think Eric is just a bit paranoid. I don't think KW would go as far as killing him.
  6. Both are just awesome, 1st is better though. How did you get so good at this, deploderer?
  7. I went to the entire Angels series. I deserve the night off.
  8. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) McCarthy is not quite ready for the bigs. He needs a little more tick at the minors and a little more movement and command of the strike zone. He comes up again and faces a good team, he'll likely get shelled again. So your saying the Cubs aren't good?
  9. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) The point is, the Cubs have some injury prone starters, and so do we. Again, comparing the 2005 Cubs to the 2005 White Sox. You are deluding yourself if you think Hernandez will start more than 25 regular season games this season. The difference is that they have 2 injury prone pitchers and those are their top 2 starters(Or atleast what they say). We have 1, and he is our 5 starter. And he was signed by planning on missing 5-10 of his starts, as noted by the public comments of our GM.
  10. El Duque has missed about 90 starts in his career, but those were almost all with the Yankees. Kerry Wood has missed around 78 starts in his career and every single one of thsoe has been with the Cubs. There is no point to be made here.
  11. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) I dont know about you hideaway lights but the numbers i see on that page are anywhere from 35-40 And Wilbur Wood way above everyone at 48. Thats tough s*** right there.
  12. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) I'll take this as a concession. You compared the 2001 Mariners to the 2005 Cubs. Congrats. Ahh, I'm done with this. I'll get back to this nonsense later.
  13. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) How many hitters do the Sox have hitting right now? 2? Whose overall batting average is better, the Sox or the Cubs? And don't the Sox have a designated hitter so SHOULDN'T their average be WAY higher? Clueless manager? Have you been watching how the Sox have been managed recently? Yes, they have no closer. We have several holes at setup. How many blown saves do the sox have in the last 3 games... six? They have better hitting than us. All this and it still does not change the fact that they have no speed, no fundamentals, a clueless manager, still have very little hitting whatsoever, still have no closer and still play horrible defense. One or two of those things isn't going to change all of that, whether you like it or not. Do the Sox lack some of this to? Yes, but certainly not to the extent of the Cubs.
  14. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Again, you seem to think that the best record after 53 games indicates who the best team in baseball is in a given year. Let's talk about the 2001 Mariners, shall we? Theres just so much wrong with this that I'm not going to even bother touching it.
  15. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) I did not say the Cubs were better; I am simply raising the topic. As I stated, I think it's a good debate. I can hate a team and still recognize their talent, believe it or not. No its a beyond terrible and senseless debate. Don't kid yourself.
  16. Sorry, I'm still awestruck that you think a team with no closer, no hitting outside 1 man, no defense, no speed, a clueless manager, and still many unnamed problems could be 36-17 right now. Thats not only better than us, thats better than the Cardinals. Oh yeah, you can include the rest of the league in there as well. The ludacity of such a comment is incredible.
  17. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) If the Cubs were completely healthy, they would be a better team than the Sox. Discuss. ROFLMAO You have to be kidding me.
  18. FATHEW LECROY STILL SUCKS. HAHAAH YOU FAT PIECE OF f***.
  19. I have come to the conclusion that I would approve if Lew Ford died.
  20. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Nevermind, they just changed it to a fielders choice and the Indians scored a run. I wish they scored...
