  1. I used to keep the game threads open while I watched but I don't anymore because like kap pointed out the tone is poor. I also think this board could do without all of the F-Bombs and swearing in general. I have this site blocked when my nephews come over and get on the net to read about the sox.
  2. Does anybody by any chance have the animated .gif of AJ stepping on Aaron Boone last year?
  3. I actually turned off the game, it's very frustrating watching this team play right now.
  4. While I think these previews are nice and a good addition to this site, the people who write them need to be more objective.
  5. Has anyone signed up for this? I signed up like a month ago and haven't received anything in the mail or in my email but my credit card was charged right away Seems to me like one of the few times the White Sox have dropped the ball with this sort of thing.
  6. Are you a fan of the Pat McGee Band? I am and was wondering if anyone knows if those pre-game performances get recorded and where I could find it.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Val, If you are in the chicago Area channel 640 will give you the sox games, and 639 is their backup station. If you are out of the area you will need to purchase the MLB package. Word of warning however: I loved directv for the time I had it, but since i've switched to Comcast, it really is the better service IMO for HDTV, on demand, etc. They are both good though, and you will be happy with either. We have Comcast right now and we absolutely hate it. We are dumping both cable and internet, we have nothing but problems with them. I'll probably just give them a call and see what's up, I was hoping to order online though because it seems like they have alot of online-only deals. Thanks for all the quick input guys!
  8. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) If you are in the local market you can watch the games. However if you are outside of the Chicagoland area you might get Comcast but the baseball games will be blacked out. I live in Hammond, so I'm in the local market. Do I need to order a specific package to get the local programming?
  9. This is probably a stupid question but I have Comcast cable right now (absolutely hate it) and we'd like to switch to a dish. Can I still get the games on CSN with the dish? I'd like to switch to Direct TV so I can get the NFL ticket, so if anyone that has Direct TV can help me out and let me know what I need to order to be able to still watch the Sox I'd appreciate it.
  10. QUOTE(Walker2Baines @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) I agree that the $30 just for the party is a bit steep. I mean it's not like they are serving filet mignon or anything like that. I'll be ordering 10 tickets tomorrow afternoon (after I round up all the cash), as long as it's before 5 pm right? And as far as the WSI people being jerks, I can back that up. I went to last years outing and they seem to have this elitist attitude amongst them, they were even chanting "WSI" at the game, that is just stupid....to come to a game and cheer yourselves. Hopefully no bad apples this year.
  11. How is this trip coming along? Also, is there a limit to the amount of tickets we can buy? I'm thinking of going but would like to bring my familiy, probably about 10 of us.
  12. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) i noticed that as well, lets get a GIDP I'm trying to listen via the wscr website and it started out with the Sox game and then after the first out it switched to some sort of talk radio, this happen to anyone else?
  13. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) If you could just change yr icon to a little Dusty saying "Just one more inning, you'll be fine" -- you'd be all set to go.
  14. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 06:17 AM) A lot of people were. valponick's just sore cuz he got Prior. I honestly didn't know if anyone was there or not. Then I just missed it (I saw the post to push back the time dated last night and figured people missed it), no big deal. I will keep the draft setup the way it was. I need to email yahoo and tell them to disregard my email then. Totally my bad guys.\ edit: I got Prior, Wood and Barrett :banghead
  15. Attn. everyone in this league. I'm not sure what happened with the draft mix-up, I completely thought I set the date for next Sunday but it auto-drafted us tonight. I am going to email Yahoo in the morning and see if they will reset the league, otherwise I will have to delete the league and make a new one so we can draft next week. Sorry about the mixup.
  16. League #2 is all setup. First things first we should try to figure out a good time for the draft. We can either post here or on the league homepage. Good luck to everyone!
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 04:09 AM) Ha, you said exactly what I was gonna say. Everything I did was perfectly within the confines of the rules. Just to add, "Bush League" is the most overused phrase in all of sports it has no meaning anymore. Understandable, nothing against you at all, the only reason I made the post was because I wanted to be in a league with more experienced FFBB'ers. Take care.
  18. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Well next time log on to your computer faster because honestly, there's a bunch of people who do that on Yahoo and I've been on the "bad" side of that. Plus all the rules are set once the league is set. You really can't complain about something you didn't think of and someone else did. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but I'm just saying the facts. I guess in this case it was more of an etiquette issue, it was definitely a "noob" type of move and I had not seen it before it any league I had EVER been in. If that is how people here play, then I it is definitely good to know so I can adapt. No worries with your comment, honesty is always appreciated.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 04:47 AM) Yes, there was another, it didn't really bother me so much that Latino Heat was upset. It was more that the other guy felt the need to put his two cents in when it didn't even affect him. Damn I know how to hold a grudge. That other guy you're talking about is me. I never said you cheated, you just took advantage of the way the league was set up. Most leagues stop free agency at some point int the league, usually right around when the playoffs are starting. The last match of the league (2 weeks long) was you and another team who were both on fire and it was set to be a good matchup. When you started adding and dropping 5-7 pitchers per day to inflate your stats is when it became bush league. Free agency is part of fantasy baseball but it is best for a league to at the very least have a maximum allowed number of transactions per week to avoid things like this. What it ended up coming down to was whoever logged on first and picked up all of the free agent pitchers who were throwing the next day. I should also add that the Hornswogglers didn't start doing it until you did.
  20. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 03:58 AM) You were in my league? I don't remember that. 1 and 2 were Latino Heat and Kalapse, so you didn't do THAT well. You beat me, but that wasn't saying much in that league. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle our league yet. We only had a 10 man league, and there was some turmoil towards the end of the year. I get the feeling we're going to disband it and fill in the other leagues as necessary. I suppose we could just fill in the spots for those that had issues with our league too though. We'll see. Yea, I took 3rd in this league. 1 and 2 were Hornswogglers and Kalapse I thought? Anyways, I would love to play in a league again this year but I would prefer to not be in the same league I was in last year, alot of bush league stuff took place and it made the entire year seem like a waste.
  21. I was at a bar this past weekend and in typical fashion some friends of mine who are Cubs fans only response when the White Sox were brought up was about the on-the-field incidents that happened there years ago. I swear I remember reading somewhere that the people who ran onto the field were either Cubs fans or had come from a day-game at Wrigley. Can someone provide some links to some information I can find on this. I would love to be able to throw that back at them if it's true!
  22. For those of us who bought Ozzie plans, when do we get the actual tickets in the mail?
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) Oh cut the dramatics, sister. Your initial post and follow ups have been nothing but pot stirring. You got what you were looking for.. I'm not being dramatic, it's actually giving me a good laugh. I wasn't looking for anything when I made my post, but I did get more than I bargained for.
  24. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) You may be a Sox fan, but it's to the shame of the rest of us. Again, just asanine. My view of Miguel Tejada has nothing to do with me being a White Sox fan. There are a ton of people out there who disagree with me but why start attacking me as a Sox fan. You're a mod right? Joke.
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Based on what? If you want I'll lay it out for you as best I can, but I won't post it here, I'll PM you.
