QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) Wow. I bet it took some serious technological expertise to synchronize the picture with Ed and John's radio play-by-play. Is there a delay at all or were you able to line them up? If you did synchronize them, that's SO awesome. Any chance you could put those DVDs on the internet or burn some more and send them to me? I'd seriously pay you. Yes, most everything is in sync, it took about 4 of us working on it for a good week but we were able to get it done. It obviously isn't perfect but it's much better than listening to the FOX crew, and to answer your question, no we aren't putting them up on the internet or distributing them, it's just something we did for friends/family.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Any people good with technology. Can you please pm me if you know how to turn tivo recording into DVD's or is that a pipe dream. I Tivo'ed all of the games in HD, ripped them onto my computer and dubbed the radio audio over and made my own DVD's...they are amazing.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) And where did he do that..? Sox attendance for '05 - 2.4 million Let's say 80% of them parked in the lots which brings that # to 1.9 million Average parking $15.00 ($17 for day of game, $13 for season ticket holders, and not figuring in those that have residential parking or park in the $8 lot)) = $28.5 million $'s Let's say the Sox get 50% (not a snowballs chance in hell they do, but let's pretend they do) that's $14.2 million for the season. How is that 10's of millions of $$'s...? It's not. Settle down, its ok to not be right about everything.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) And... ? What does that have to do with your incorrect information about the Sox making 10's of $$'s of dollars from parking...? I think he was just trying to show you that you were wrong about the percentage the Sox got from parking....

Not sure if this has been posted, if it has please delete or merge. I was just thinking it would be a nice going away gift if we could slam this vote like we did for Pods. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb.../frick_bios.jsp

QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 02:47 AM) how does this program work? You can find out more information on their website but it's pretty self-explanatory...instead of streaming it downloads.

You can dowload them using a program like HiDownload or any other program that will allow you to download streaming audio/video.

The White Sox are substituting activity for performance, which is one of the last steps before "unemployment" for a baseball management team. When signing Jermaine Dye to a two-year deal is the good move of the winter, it's a very bad sign. Actually, that shorts the pickup of Tadahito Iguchi, who was kind of a Japanese Ray Durham. Keep in mind that Durham had his last healthy, effective season at 29; Iguchi turned 30 in December. Carlos Lee is now Scott Podsednik. Frank Thomas might be back in April, May or never. Aaron Rowand is presumably back, taking the place of the alien that played in his body last year. It's one thing to again hope that this is the year Joe Crede finds the keys; it's quite another to need it to be the case. The "small ball" concept should claim another victim this year. The pitching staff isn't going to make up for the falloff in runs scored. Freddy Garcia and Mark Buehrle are mid-rotation innings guys who get paid like aces. They head a rotation that's long on hope--not just one, but two Cubans with shaky recent track records exiled from the Bronx--and short on anything you can rely upon. The bullpen is better, with two legitimate studs at the back in Damaso Marte and Shingo Takatsu. Ozzie Guillen did an excellent job last year in funneling most of the relevant innings to his nine or so best pitchers, perhaps Guillen's signature skill aside from being quotable. It won't be enough to patch for what is going to be a bad offense. Projected standings: White Sox 71-91 749 856 - Joe Sheehan's Preseason Preview EDIT: If this has been posted sorry.

Not sure if anyone is interested but I am making a set of DVD's that has the HDTV rips of the games with Ed and John's calls over it.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) anybody make any dvds of the games?? I'm looking into the possibilites and may have an outlet I've got HDTV rips of all of the games with Ed and John dubbed over I'll be making a set of DVDs after this series is over.

Can you get the WS patch at Grandstand or do you have to take it somewhere like TTS?

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Since it's GA, I wonder if the Club level will be open. That might be the best section to view the big screens. EDIT: Just checked...yes. Just so you know it isn't general admission as in first come first serve, there is still assigned seating, the GA refers to all tickets being the same price.

Anybody?

I skimmed a few pages but couldn't find the thread about the games at the UC. Basically I just want to know if they will have concessions (beer) there, if they'll be selling WS souvenirs and if you have to pay for parking.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) I'm pretty sure that picture has been floating around since the beginning of the playoffs... Yea, I was going to post that but I didn't want to rain on any parades. Didn't someone post here saying that the sign had changed to 'GO SOX' ?

So What'd Ticketmaster Charge You Per Ticket?
valponick replied to LVSoxFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Was it more for Ticketfast? Ticketfast is a flat fee of $3.50??? I think. During the regular season it was $2 but it was more for the postseason. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) More like $11 total is what I saw. $19 for 4 tickets. -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Good logo, but it's showing up very pixelated right there. Here's a cleaner one. I have no idea why it showed up so grainy like that. Same file that's on my phone and it's crystal clear....

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Autq...=yhoo&type=lgns All for one By Ryne Sandberg, Yahoo! Sports October 17, 2005 Ryne Sandberg Yahoo! Sports Exclusive There may be some Chicago Cubs fans on the North Side who will lose their minds from reading this, but I'm happy for Ozzie Guillen and the Chicago White Sox. Sorry Northsiders, but I will be rooting for the White Sox in the World Series. And I'm telling all Cubs fans that it is OK to root for them. Here are three good reasons why you should: 1. They play the game right. If you haven't noticed, the White Sox play hard and they do many things well. First of all, their lineup doesn't have many holes, so Ozzie is able to bunt and hit-and-run at any point in the batting order. The White Sox play an NL-type of ball that I love. They pitch well, they have recently played good defense and they're playing with a lot of passion. They're also fun to watch right now. Give them a chance. ADVERTISEMENT 2. It's good for the city of Chicago. Whether you live on 35th Street or in Wrigleyville, the White Sox reaching the World Series is a great accomplishment for the city. How long have the White Sox and Cubs been mired together in baseball mediocrity? Now, the White Sox are going to the Fall Classic and I believe the Cubs aren't far from getting there themselves. Cubs fans, be patient. Give it some time and your team will be there, too. Chicago should rally around the White Sox and understand that a White Sox win is a win for the entire city, not just below the river. 3. If you root for them, next year they'll root for you. How many times have Cubs fans said, "Wait 'til next year"? Well, this phrase might actually be true. The pieces are in place for a winning Cubs season in 2006. Jim Hendry will finally have a good amount of money to spend on free agents, and the questions the Cubs general manager has had in the past (bullpen and leadoff batter) can be answered with a few small moves. So, if you root for the White Sox this October, they'll be on your side next October. I'm not saying that Cubs fans have to go out and buy Paul Konerko jerseys. However, we should have no reason to "hate" the White Sox. I know Cubs fans are knowledgeable and they should be able to appreciate good baseball when they see it. The White Sox are playing good baseball and it should be appreciated by the entire city of Chicago. The Cubs should be able to learn something from the White Sox, who changed their team around in one year. They went from a team of bombers (Konerko, Carlos Lee, Magglio Ordonez) to a team with more speed that can beat you in several ways. Adding Scott Podsednik and Tadahito Iguchi gave them more variety in their lineup. So it's OK to be a White Sox fan for one series, Cubs Nation. Really, it is. This Cub certainly will. Longtime Chicago Cub Ryne Sandberg was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 31, 2005. Send Ryne a question or comment for potential use in a future column or webcast.

QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 06:33 AM) I have been a member of soxtalk for about 10 months now. I have enjoyed reading and thinking about many of the things that all of you have written. I think that this season has now led me to a weird place. A place I never really though I would be. We are within 4 games of winning the World Series. It finally hit me today as I was driving and listening to Mac Jurko and Harry. I have so many thoughts about everything that is going on I just kind of wanted to let it all go at once. Firstly, I am incredibly bothered by all the fair-weather fans that have adopted the Sox. This past weekend was my old college's homecoming ( I graduated about a year and a half ago now.) I decided that I wanted to represent the team and so I wore my He Gone shirt. It was fun in a sense but in another sense I wish I didn't wear it. Many people throughout the night would shout "He Gone!" and I would return in right back. But I just saw way too many people wearing Sox stuff. I would find myself wanting to go up to people and start quizzing them on the roster. The part that really sucks is that this is actually taking away some of my enjoyment from seeing my favorite sports team in the biggest of series. I wish it wasn't so, but it is. The best way I've heard it put was on the radion one day when they compared it to a band that you were there for the beginning for and once they actually make it, it's just not the same. Secondly, I have really enjoyed reading the "Win it for..." thread. This is a very special thing we are witnessing and there are so many who are no longer around who deserve it so much. It is very appropriate that we remember them. Thirdly, I agree with so many of you that it feels like something is missing with Hawk calling the games. I am not the biggest supporter of Hawk, but for years he has been the voice of the Sox. The person who says aloud what you are thinking. I hope somehow he is very involved in the World Series. I would love so much to hear and see his reaction if the Sox pull this off. Fourth, the tickets situation... this is an absolute joke... oh well. Good luck to you all tomorrow. And last... I'm sorry if this has dealt mainly with the negative. This team is incredible. They have brought me so much happiness this year. Everything about the makeup of this team and organization has come together at the right time, and now makes perfect sense. Boys and girls, I think this truly is our year. Cheers to you all and Go Go Go Go Whitesox. I actually can relate to this on a few levels. Last friday was my HS homecoming, hadn't been back in 7 years but from what I remember most of the guys I went to school with were Cubs fans and the entire fieldhouse was filled withe Sox hats. About Hawk calling the games, I don't miss it too much as I would rather listen to Farmer and Rooney on the radio, and it's just something you have to deal with when you get put on the national stage, I'm sure most every team in the postseason wishes they could have their TV guys, fortunately we are blessed with the best broadcasting duo in the game....and they are on the radio. Kind of the same thing with tickets. This is all new for everyone, even the season ticket holders. We haven't ever experienced this kind of demand for tickets to our ballpark, and again it's just a bi-product of being on the national stage. I would rather have to deal with those minor problems than be sitting at home wishing we were in the series.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) Im gonna be trying to get tickets tomorrow at noon and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to try and help me get through easier. I got tickets to the alcs through ticketmaster but my friend is the one who got them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a crapshoot really, you just have to pray for some luck. The only thing I could tell you is to use multiple computers in your house if you have that kind of access and to be on the phone trying while you are trying online. Good Luck.
