This reminds me of the late July series in Detroit in 2009, day after Buehrle perfect game. 5 games above .500, but then lost 3/4 and ran out of gas.

Even if he wins appeal, it would go from 5 games or so to 3. I think he has to return, pitch to at least one batter, and then it starts the next day.

Totally reasonable post, and you know I hate their approach of “let’s just make you a reliever to start with”. Chris Sale is a unicorn, and I wish they’d stop trying to make everyone into him.

How did they bungle McDougal? All the games have been close since he was called up. If you’re saying it’s how he showed bad command, I think we all knew it was possible/likely with him and Hagen.
