Hostetler didn’t exactly brag about Madrigal’s performance to date on the podcast. Said he keeps making contact and playing good defense, but he’s learning how to adjust to shifts, etc.

Or if he swings and makes contact so much that he’s not taking enough pitcher’s pitches.

I’ve said this before, but the quality of contact is poor for Madrigal from what I’ve seen and heard. His results look like someone who can’t handle professional velocity. I don’t see light at the end of the tunnel for him to become an impact player.
