Only thing I can think is Sox told Boras an extremely high number they'd pay (350 or so), but Boras can't leak them as a team due to the Manny backlash? Could be why we've heard lately that there's another team besides Phillies that have offered over 300, but that team hasn't been mentioned.
I know everyone was excited about yesterday’s lineup, but what other internal difference makers are there in the organization? Almost feels now that catcher or right fielder are biggest areas to focus on for offense.
Seeing all over twitter that Heyman said on the radio the 5 teams still under consideration......
Phillies, Giants, Dodgers, Braves, Cubs
Braves and Cubs considered longshots.
This isn’t directed at you, but the amount of “tough guys” on this site over the last week has been too much. Everyone can be pissed at the Sox, but far too many posters are taking out their frustrations on other posters.
I’ve never heard a GM say “you never know who the 3-4-5 will be, still moves to be made” basically unprompted. That level of cockiness was embarrassing in retrospect.
All along, the organization said it mattered what happened this offseason with regards to where Yoan played. It didn’t take a genius to realize he would be at 3rd if they didn’t get Manny. Once Moustakas signed and Yoan practiced at 3rd, it seemed over to me.
