Hahn would have been the one that spent 40 million this offseason on stop-gaps, which is exactly what he said he wouldn’t do. It’s his job to execute the plan.
Just saw on mlbtraderumors that Padres didn’t seriously contemplating going after Manny until the end of January. That would be another blow that Hahn shouldn’t recover from.
I’m sorry, there’s no excuse if they miss out because Padres offered more. It would be a failure of execution by a front office that has really struggled.
Said it before, but the bigger concern is the Padres not going after Moustakas. Between that and Yoan taking grounders at 3rd, the writing might be on the wall.
Nah this is bad for the Sox. Padres clearly need a 3rd baseman still, so what do they have left out there if they don’t get Manny? It’s really odd how so few on here think Padres are a threat.
Why do they need to sign? They still haven’t missed a single practice yet, and even if they wait a few weeks to sign, I highly doubt it would impact their performance come April.
The reason Eloy is going to be so good is he doesn’t seem to swing and miss a lot. When you take add that to his ability to produce huge exit velocities, it’s going to create a very dangerous hitter.
