  1. I see him as a future reliever anyways, so maybe velocity increases. That slider alone should make him a quality LOOGY as a floor of his ability
  2. I believe he hasn't walked in 30 straight games now
  3. It's starts like this that make it harder to proclaim the Sox won the Shields trade. With that said, I think he stays rest of year to provide innings and "leadership"
  4. Just a case of a manager not using his best reliever because of a made up "save" stat
  5. Ricky is not going to be using this game for his managerial resume.
  6. Saw he had a 2-0 count against a guy who throws from that arm angle and figured he would crush it. Similar arm angle to Leake, and he demolished him.
  7. If you're trading Rodon now, it better be for a Q like package.
  8. The story is he didn't want to admit he reinjured himself and have to go on the DL. Too late
  9. And it's also come out that he suffered an injury early in the game, which prevented him from running
  10. Nice stuff by Soria. Hahn is so going to package Shields, Soria and Cedeno in the same trade.
  11. 5 of Giolito's last 6 starts have been pretty damn good. Velocity for sure has stabilized in the 93-94 range, and he looks infinitely more comfortable throwing it.
  12. I see no rush, and I don't think AA is going to be fun for him in terms of power. Also, won't he get to play in postseason for W-S?
  13. his appearances of late have been 1000 times more enjoyable than early in the year. He's at least close to the zone with fastballs he misses on. Earlier in the year, he was missing by feet and not inches and then looking like he wanted to fight the mound.
  14. dear god Benetti, drop the stone puns
  15. I LOVE the pick off moves with the pitcher, as it's been very effective. Hate it from our catchers that have mediocre arms.
  16. nice job by Lucas.....don't even think about letting him start the 7th
  17. From day 1 of ST, they wanted Engel over Leury in CF.
  18. I would hate to see what you consider "the most difficult"
  19. Bad walk for Giolito, need to be able to throw it down the plate and let a bad hitter swing away with 3-2 count and no one on. Even in a start where he has good fastball command, he still has 4 walks.
