He needs to be able to hit the fastball. He’s been blown away by them this year. No one is going to be a stellar offspeed hitter at this stage.

No matter who they put at DH, it ends up being a bad hitting game for that player.

Pitch selection is freaking awful.

His velocity is way down from what he was throwing in the minors. He was 96-97 on average and not 93-95. He’s been Coop’d.

Cease has the opposite issue of Giolito. He throws his curve over the plate too often instead of bouncing it.

Yep he’s not letting it rip. There were some stats that came out today that showed he has a significant number of holes in his swing.
