Patrick Corbin signing for 6/$140 million to Nats
Yep, and say Happ goes to Phillies....does that mean Yankees trade Andujar for Kluber and create even more of a need for Manny?

Patrick Corbin signing for 6/$140 million to Nats
I don't think it helps, as it means they'll have even more payroll flexibility if they sign Happ for less money. With that said, I don't think it really matters. Just like with the Cubs signing Hamels, if the Phils/Yanks/Cubs are serious about Harper and/or Machado, they knew what they needed in terms of flexibility coming into the offseason.

So Yanks, interested in trading for a lefty that throws a lot of sliders?

White sox active in starting pitching market
I think Bryce goes to Yankees/Cubs/Nats/Phillies in that order. Manny is Phillies/Yankees/WSox. The reason the Phillies are such a threat is that they seem to be willing to be reckless with their spending and seem determined to land one of the two guys. They have the best chance of pulling an ARod/Rangers and just blowing other offers away.

Corbin seems like a lock for the Yanks, and the contract is going to be ridiculous. It feels like this offseason is when your favorite college hoops team is recruiting a player and Duke (NYY) and Kentucky (Phillies) are involved.

White sox active in starting pitching market
One of the biggest obstacles to competing is that some of the young guys they’re counting on in 2019 sucked in 2018 (Giolito’s stats are still almost hard to believe), while some of the guys that are gone were their best contributors (Shields, Omar).

If the Sox did land Machado, I absolutely believe they should use Madrigal as a trade chip.

Mariners to send Segura to Phillies for Santana/JP Crawford/others?
Amazing trade for Phillies if no prospects involved

Moncada hopes to stay at 2b
If they move Yoan to 3rd, I can guarantee it’s because they think he’ll be ready sooner than later.
-
Moncada hopes to stay at 2b
Because they want to pave the way for Madrigal in a year

Moncada hopes to stay at 2b
Just for the whale seekers, if he moves to 3rd, that means no Machado or Arenado.

Clearly Bryce Harper will be new coach. Not sure if anyone saw this, but his name was even shown on the boards at the UC a while back

It’s more they upgraded at SS without adding too much to their payroll while also moving Hoskins to 1B. Makes it even easier for them now to go bonkers on Bryce and/or Manny

Well they just created an open corner outfield spot

Better than Harper to the Cubs. With that said, wow did the fan base get some irrational hope about the chance the Sox had to sign either guy. If what you say happens, then that Morosi initially tweet will live in infamy.

Kyle Seager
FWIW, the Mariners insider on Reddit that has been giving out inside info doesn’t believe Seager gets traded due to teams thinking he won’t rebound from his bad season

But now they can move Hoskins to 1B for sure.

Phillies being able to unload Santana makes it even more likely they sign Machado or Harper, IMO
