Why not work with Basabe (as an example) on situational hitting with runner on 2nd and no outs instead of having him bunt on the first pitch he sees in the 1st inning? I think the bunt stuff came into focus due to Julie, Maybe's tweets

I know his average isn't great, but I've been very impressed with Eloy's selectiveness so far for Charlotte. Hasn't chased a lot of junk pitches. With his strength, he's going to put up big numbers if he can put so many balls in play.

And for those that don't follow the minor leagues (and tweets from observers), the excessive bunting seems to be happening with those teams as well. Omar, especially, in W-Salem seems to be abusing it.

I don't think he's close to being 100%. Also I don't think he's going to be a huge power hitter. If he can be a player that hits .265 with 15 homers and steals 30 bases while playing CF, that would be a great investment.

Something that the Sox drafting philosophy the last few years has created is the sense that they better immediately produce in the minors given their age/college status. If Sheets is still not hitting for power a year from now, then by all means, the pick can be ripped. When I've seen him hit on TV, I don't really like his stance. Seems really easy for pitchers to get him to chop the ball on the ground.

Yeah, I haven't seen him much live to really give an opinion on him. Tonight was one of the first times, but it's hard to really form an opinion given his rustiness and the horrible Barons video. One thing that I'm sure we've all noticed in watching the game logs is that it's basically a double whenever someone reaches base against him.

Leury played SS in one of his rehab games. They just prefer Engel over him in CF, it's been that way since ST.

He might have 2-3 infield hits all season. It's why taking 38 called 3rd is ridiculous with his speed.

Adjustments is on breaking pitches, and is more with your hands and legs which then impacts bat path. Someone like Rizzo is a great example of this.

You don't want a hitter adjusting to the pitch? It's why he gets fooled so badly on sliders, his bat path is the same. He could also stand to shorten his swing with 2 strikes, but he seems determined to do everything his way and then make adjustments after the year.

Yep one thing I've been concerned about all along with Madrigal is if he hits it in the air, it's likely an out. He's definitely going to be a guy that needs the bapip gods to smile down on him to have strong offensive seasons. His ISO isn't likely to be special.
