  1. Nice job by Renteria sticking up for him. The hosing of Moncada has gotten ridiculous.
  2. Ricky, stand up for Yoan for once. Pitch was 6 inches off the plate.
  3. Way too early on Covey...let's see how well his velocity holds up as innings increase. Promising metrics though for him.
  4. I thought it was a joke but he literally has the worst xFIP for any qualified starter. He really needs to throw more fastballs above the belt.
  5. One swinging strike all game on the fastball for Lopez. That's ridiculous
  6. I think what's taken place in the majors and minors this year has slowed that talk a lot. Instead of getting free agents to supplement the core, it seems more now they need a guy to lead the rest of the core.
  7. Another really bad start by a pitcher. Way too many freaking walks. Nothing good has actually taken place in this game so far. Maybe Yoan can hit a homer in his remaining two at bats
  8. You didn't hear about the riots in front of Kenny's house if Singer got picked (who I think isn't good at least)
  9. What about his defensive slump, when did that start?
  10. Funny part of this is I'm clearly on the low end of liking Madrigal on soxtalk
  11. By no means am I giving up on him, and it's been insane on twitter the last week or so seeing people suggest he's a total bust. He's a guy that WAR should love due to his best skills. I'm way more concerned about Kopech's struggles, to be honest. With these young guys, I feel like there's a difference between being frustrated and concerned. When Collins wasn't swinging at any pitches to start the year, that was frustrating. On the other hand, Giolito would be a concern due to lacking really any true major league qualities.
  12. If the Sox decide they want Madrigal to be their 2nd baseman for 2020, then they would probably start transitioning Moncada to a different position sometime next year? It's not like we're talking about creating room for when a high school draftee might make the big league roster in 5 years.
  13. Yet I guarantee you that if the Sox took a great defensive SS who is expected up to the majors around 2020, people would say Anderson was pressing if he went into a defensive slump after the draft. Again, I don't think it's linked, but the timing has made it much easier to suggest Madrigal stays at where he's elite and Yoan can move.
  14. I'm sure it's purely coincidental but it's a bit ironic his defensive slump started right around when the Sox drafted a potential GG 2nd baseman.
  15. And 3-4 more bad plays that weren't given errors. His defense is not good enough to make Madrigal and his sensational defense move elsewhere.
  16. It's when you remember that so many of the same bad front office members and talent developers/scouts that got them to have to rebuild are still making decisions.
  17. Over the past month, his defense has been worse than his offense. If he keeps this up, he better not complain when they move him to a different position when Madrigal comes up
  18. Moncada's bad defense is becoming a huge issue. Seriously, what good is Renteria if the young guys keep getting worse?
  19. Haha, another great start. Lopez is way too inconsistent. As for Ricky, he is a total fraud
  20. Also, great to see Omar rewarded with his great game from yesterday with another start today.
  21. Lopez fastball down about 3 mph from how he usually starts. 4 pitch walk, this is gonna be fun.
  22. And would you be at all shocked if Sox then signed Abreu after next season? For me, would make a lot of sense actually.
  23. Big difference between Abreu and JDM. You get an extra season with Abreu, as well as the ability to get a comp pick if he leaves after next season.
  24. Not as the main part. Has all the makings of a AAAA player
  25. And Sox could have taken him last year if they really liked him.
