If Dunning is truly a top 70 prospect right now, that's not exactly a damming opinion on Singer. From what I've seen, Singer has way better movement on his sinker than Dunning. Dunning has a better offspeed pitch.
Well if it's between having a chance at mize or seeing them win a few meaningless games and getting Singer instead.....then absolutely I want to see more losses.
Hostetler said his goal is to find someone that can be pencilled into starting lineup/rotation consistently for years. He mentioned nothing about finding superstar.
He's opening up a little early still. That was actually not hit hard despite a good swing. Good news is he seems to be getting closer to being locked in.
Just gonna post that. Could have easily gone another inning with 81 pitches, but I'm sure they know what they're doing. He seems to be either awesome or terrible.
Something to keep in mind is Jacksonville appears to be a rather weak hitting team. Only 39 homers on the year. They were getting good swings in the middle innings off Singer.
