Rodon is a starter, just not an ace. He still has a plus pitch. You can’t say anyone else on the staff has an above average pitch.

Wtf is Eloy doing out there?

Fastball at 92 now. Cooper is the best!

probably more accurate than saying Giolito has good stuff.

At this rate, he won't be in the rotation next year. Stone seems to hate watching him pitch.

Just because a curve drops a lot doesn't mean it's good. We've seen enough from Giolito to know his curve isn't like Gavin Floyd's where hitters are fooled with it.

Cabrera threw way harder and had a wipeout slider.

Just because someone says “JR wants to win” doesn’t mean it’s really true. Actions speak louder than words, and he sure doesn’t seem to be putting his organizations in the best chance to succeed.

and you would probably say Giolito is the most talented player on the roster still Could play this game all night. Let's just drop it and hope for the best with Lucas.

Lucas, stop worrying about soxtalk and go get ready for the bottom of the 2nd

Keep comparing the best pitchers of a generation to one of the worst pitchers in baseball. Really does a great job of proving your point.

Dude, his curve sucks. You might be the last remaining person that thinks he has good stuff. He would be in AAA if he wasn’t a former top prospect.

Nice location on the fastball...one more big out to go

It's funny, but he isn't even trying to frame anything. Seems off-balanced back there. Meanwhile, Giolito's curve continues to be an urban legend.

You forgot how awful he is once runners get on base.

Such a lazy effort by Anderson and pathetic scoop attempt by the DH.

I’m sorry, I don’t buy that winning is the most important thing for JR anymore. His actions with the Sox and Bulls scream out he wants “yes men” around to not trying to change the status quo.

Saw that Mariners loved his changeup and felt he could thrive by throwing it more

Good lord...silly stats. Can he skip AA to not be infected by Baronitis?

Yet they’ve seemingly done nothing with his mechanics to help him. Rather it seems he’s still chopping the ball quite often and the contact is rather soft. Meanwhile we hear about other guys like Hoerner that immediately got their swing adjusted and showed a lot more pop.

I just don’t get what they saw if they were never going to try him at SS. 2-3 WAR 2nd baseman aren’t very special. Taking a guy with the 4th pick that you’re shocked if they get an extra base hit is a bad plan.

Yeah not sure I have seen a team make hitting look so difficult to start the year. Most of their OPS wouldn’t even be good OBP
