4-8 Gamethread - Tigers, 1:10pm, CSN
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 06:29 PM) Eh... I mean I'm happy with the walk but I wouldn't say "what a start". He still looks overmatched too often to be a cleanup hitter He's looked great

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 06:24 PM) What did I miss? Passed ball for Castillo.

Defense has been a disaster this season

Pitching on this team is crazy bad

QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 08:46 PM) Moncada is honestly swinging the bat extremely well outside of ONE game so far... Technically two (Happ/Zim)

Another good at bat

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 09:25 PM) Jesus I thought Yolmer got all of that one. Ball just dying. Big reason you can't hit/walk the world.

Delmonico needs to stop diving for very ball out there. Just gonna result in more bases.

Overall a very bad start for Giolito. Results finally revealed just how poorly he was throwing. Hopefully he starts to get more comfortable because as of now, he looks like he did to start last year.

That was terrible first pitch to swing at

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 08:51 PM) Not to mention both his starts the weather has been cold as s***. Not worried about Gio's velocity yet. Yep I bet Lopez velocity is way down tomorrow also

Great at bat!

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 08:49 PM) You don't have to throw 95 to be successful in the majors. Better have good command and/or secondary pitches

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 08:42 PM) Do we even want to be playing baseball? Been an insane amount of bad defensive plays that don't show up in box score because they weren't/can't be ruled an error

April 7th Game Thread: White Sox vs. Tigers
That's the easiest dp of the season

Fastball at 90 this inning. More awful defense of course

QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 07:36 PM) Yep. And I get that wins are unimportant this season and that we want to see the kids development, but Engel has had enough time. Cordell deserves a full season to see what he’s made of. The longer we wait with a guy who clearly isn’t a MLBer, the less viewing time we have with the guy who might be. Leury actually deserves a full season as he showed more potential last year than Engel could dream of

QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 07:34 PM) He just looks so over-matched. Almost like he is afraid to swing sometimes. No leg kick and dipping on his swing. Exactly opposite of a few weeks ago.

What an ugly swing. He's just not a major leaguer

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 08:23 PM) Giolito has to do a better job of keeping runners on in check. He's very slow to the plate

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 08:19 PM) I can honestly say the loss on Thursday didn’t bother me at all. Of course I’d love for them to win, we all would. But when Soria blows that game, I guy that may not even be here in August, let alone 2019 and 2020, I really don’t care at all. I’m watching to see Moncada, Anderson, Gio, Lopez, etc. You want to see how these guys perform in certain situations, trends, growth, etc. Well said, honestly only upsetting part was how bad Yoan looked. Besides that, loved what I saw from Timmy and Yolmer

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 07:17 PM) Castillo in particular has looked half-there most of the season thus far for me. Yet looked good in the dome

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 07:15 PM) Abreu has always looked bad in the cold (which could be a problem in the future, ha) But I agree, it’s hard to quantify but you can see it Giolito, Abreu and Castillo look like they're in slow motion

Some of these guys look incredibly uncomfortable playing in the cold
