You mean the one about Harper meeting with the Cubs? I would say Charles the Cat and Evan Altman are far less random than some of the things people have shared on here. Again, have you actually read what the soxordie account has posted? I would say our good friend J. Michael Robertson has a better chance of being accurate.

Or if you know, the person had gotten something right so far and wasn’t posting nonsense like the Sox are trying to sign Joc to an extension. The cat at least got something right in the past. This other account has been wrong on every prediction it has made so far.

From what I witnessed watching his games last year, he strikes out looking on more pitches right down the plate than Yoan does. For Collins, it’s less about being able to protect on borderline pitches and more about just swinging the bat and not looking to walk every appearance.

Quite frankly, the drafting has been atrocious. With the likely graduations this year, they really need to see growth this year from those that struggled in 2018.

That account has been inaccurate on a lot of stuff since it started.

Thanks again parkey

Seems like a nice plant by Boras-Heyman to get Phillies to up their offer

Not a big fan of his shot, but I think just seeing him on every game just make good ACC players look like high school-level athletes has changed my mind.

I still dislike Barrett’s game, but I’m sold on Zion now. Just a total freak of an athlete.

Yep would love nothing more than the Cubs getting better while the Sox chances to miss on Manny increase. If they are meeting with him this late in the process, they clearly have some interest in him.

Also there was a report that Harper met with other teams recently for a 2nd or 3rd time and the media didn’t report on those.

FWIW, and it’s very little, but Jed Hoyer was out west yesterday. Said he just got to Arizona around 5pm cst when he called in to do his super bowl pick with Mac and Parkins.

Well it ends up it was about the Cubs meeting with Harper yesterday https://www.cubsinsider.com/2019/02/02/source-cubs-met-with-bryce-harper-friday-deal-not-believed-imminent/

To me, it’s more of the threat of the Phillies if Harper goes somewhere else.

Just to make myself and some others nervous, but here's something that a pretty well-respected cubs insider posted tonight. No idea what it's about.

Is it just possible they don't make as many White Sox ones as they do Red Sox/Yankees? Legit question, not a rhetorical question.

Jay deal is fine, as they needed someone like him. As for the person that said Indians still might trade Kluber, that is true. But unloading Alonso made trading Kluber to open up salary less of a necessity.

Alonso cost them 9 million, gave Indians salary relief to potentially keep their stellar staff together and is blocking Palka from getting at bats. I like Alonso, but if they miss on Manny, it’s a ridiculous acquisition.

Taking a 1-year deal and signing after season started is a brutal idea. You’re only costing yourself a ton of money in your next deal if you slump in 2019, and not having a Spring Training is a nice recipe for decreased production.

Yeah so does Herrera. Goes without saying, but Hahn really needs to finish the offseason strong to avoid “losing the offseason”.

Harper almost suffered a terrible knee injury two years ago

This is what you don’t want to hear, as CC thinks Yankees still have a shot https://mobile.twitter.com/YankeesSZN19/status/1091052721061416960

At this point, I don’t think having this done by start of ST is important at all to the big 2. Who wouldn’t want to try to get a few more millions while missing “practice”. Hahn even acknowledged it could go to March.

Or maybe they’ve been in all along, and just wanted to keep it quiet as they worked on Kluber and Realmuto?
