Josh Harrison has been linked to them

When Heyman tweeted last week that a mystery team had the highest bid for Manny but it wasn't a preferred location, the Padres seemed like the easy choice.

I don't doubt it's that high, but no one knows what's being offered.

I don't see why it's that hard to believe. Say the Padres were looking at Moustakas for like 12 mil a year, but knew he was waiting to pick a team after Manny signed. If they see that Manny is only being offered 25 mil a year, is it that hard to believe they wouldn't potentially shift their focus (given their minimal payroll and aggressive GM)?

And this is why you don't mess around and get the deal done before other teams jump in. Let's just hope the Sox didn't get too cute with their negotiations.

Is that after the refs tore off their shirts to reveal Rams jerseys under them?

Chuck is doing a podcast with Yonder tonight. It's going to be funny hearing him ask questions not pertaining to Manny, as everyone knows people only want to hear about that.

I love it, up until we all realize that Bruce and Bob would tweet within 10 minutes of it being over that the Sox offer is still 7/175 and no one is close to signing.

Rick Hahn is having his annual pre-soxfest press conference around 2:40 today

Ozzie and Kenny are going to hug and act like they're best buddies now....once Ozzie turns his back, KW is going to choke slam him through the table. As the show goes off the air, he's pointing to the 2005 World Series banner and the camera focuses on his World Series ring.

You mean an airport close to where he used to play

If Manny signs, that would be the number 1 trending story. Heck, Harper was trending for like 12 hours the day the Dodgers traded Kemp and Puig.

It was in response to Andy Martino's tweet below:

No, he's a good source that has been fairly consistent all along.

if the Sox are trying to make it a soxfest surprise, why would they officially announce it before?

Teahen was gonna be a beast

I found it very interesting he talked about what positions he said he would play. That doesn't seem like something an agent would want all teams knowing if they're still trying to find a deal. What if Lozano is telling the Padres that they can only get Manny if they pay more for him because he's a shortstop and won't play 3rd?

Yep, if the Joc deal gets announced tomorrow morning and it's those 3 guys, then it definitely adds credibility to the other posts.

Bummer and Fulmer cleared, Joc and ? added

Dodgers 40 man was at 39 going into today, as they haven't added Pollock yet.

You mean Guaranteed Rate Field at Manny Machado Stadium

Also has a son with same initials

I hope he's right on that package as he's also been saying the Sox are signing Manny
