  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 02:48 AM) What is this sudden fascination with Calhoun? Why are we targeting a DH? Big time hitter but no position to play. He will definitely be available as Dodgers have no place to put him
  2. Sox minor league relievers have not been shy about letting inherited runners score for our starting prospects
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 01:40 AM) If he keeps this up until the deadline, he'll be plenty valuable. The more I think about it, the more I think he's a chip we need to cash in. Agreed, if he has similar value to that of a mid-tier closer, then jump on it. Kahnle for Calhoun seems like an optimal trade for Hahn
  4. W-S is not good. Really bad game for Collins
  5. Calhoun' defense is rumored to be non-existent. I do think we are jumping the gun big time on this, as Heyman also made it seem like there have been no talks at all between the teams
  6. Hansen needs to be in W-S....sounds like it should be soon according to Hostetler's podcast today with chuck
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 01:32 AM) The question is can Fulmer even have enough control going all out for a couple of innings to be another Addison Reed? If he's throwing 94-97, his mechanics are going to be all over the place with that delivery of his. Stephens, two more scoreless innings so far. Pointless to mention offense for BIRM. I just think Fulmer's stuff has backed up so much, he's never going to be a big league contributor. Don't forget the lack of velocity improvement last year when he was in the pen. To me, he's fallen behind Stephens and Guerrero as a prospect
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 16, 2017 -> 01:14 AM) I agree. Right before he gave up the homer, I was thinking that he doesn't look in control of what he's doing. It's throw the ball and hope. Opposition takes great swings off of him
  9. Fulmer is highly unimpressive. Lucky he hasn't given up 3-4 runs already. Not MLB starting caliber to me
  10. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 08:14 PM) Verdugo is having a nice season is AAA so far: .314/.390/.433 with more walks than strikeouts (PCL caveats apply). He could be a nice starting point... And Calhoun and Buehler
  11. QUOTE (onedude @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Rollins had a similar regression his second "full" year. I'm willing to give Tim Anderson the whole year until I judge him. He'll likely get another season to prove himself though. He will get longer than that
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 07:40 PM) I still think he should still be in the minors and never called up last year. He was good last year though. Just big time regression this season that we've seen far too often from WSox hitters in their sophomore season
  13. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 07:36 PM) I don't have much optimism for Tim Anderson, just flails out there at balls far out of the zone Down to -.3 fWAR. Also no clue why Renteria keeps putting him high up in the order. Just keep him at 7
  14. Horrible at bat by Anderson. Orioles realized no reason to throw him fastballs
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 07:31 PM) I don't want to go overboard, but Matt Davidson has the chance to be the greatest third baseman the league has ever seen. The question becomes about calling up Moncada....where would he play? Yolmer has clearly won the position for next decade
  16. Keep wondering if Dodgers need a top set-up man. Would love to get future DH Calhoun from them
  17. QUOTE (Soha @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 04:28 PM) While recognizing that drafts need to be judged years later - yeah, I came away feeling a but underwhelmed. And again, I think it's partly because last year's draft would have been hard to match. And also this year's first round seemed to take a big drop down at our exact #11 pick. I feel like last year's draft is a bit overrated
  18. Awesome for Hanson. He bopped that one. Guarantee Pirates fans are pissed
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 04:51 AM) Agreed. You may get someone who claims him on waivers to eat the rest of his 2018 salary, but the most you are getting for him is a 40 FV guy with tools. Really, I don't see any harm in keeping him in the rotation until September 1st or even the end of the season, but there's no need for him in 2018. If they cut him prior to that point, so be it. He's a FA after this year
  20. Pelfrey pitching in relief is odd. Really makes me wonder if a move is about to be made (combined with Lopez scratch)
  21. Cool Avi stat https://mobile.twitter.com/JRFegan/status/875190193732685825
  22. Omar should be allowed to take steroids. Amazing how little power he has, ISO under .020
  23. Anderson swinging at far too many pitches out of the zone. Desperately needs to move closer to the plate and/or close his stance
