Whole season if they’re not going all in

Chicago Sting

To be fair, he did get to face our pitchers in 18 games

Hey mods, any possibility of getting separate Harper and Machado threads?

Nothing major, but Spanish announcer for Yanks and Eagles says he’s heard Sox are heavily involved with Machado https://mobile.twitter.com/RR_RicardoFAN/status/1070915279792848896

Keuchel does have some Buehrle qualities that I could see them being interested in.

That’s a hard pass https://mobile.twitter.com/DOBrienATL/status/1070484245934694403

I think they’ll force it way more than they did last offseason, as illustrated by Avi/Davidson and reports of them spending big.

Earlier today he responded to someone who asked if Sox are so confident in getting Harper that they are focused on him and not starting pitching, he said “no”

Within the column, he also says Machado is still saying he wants to play SS

thanks for posting...I think he mentions Marwin as an option for almost 10 teams. I'm more intrigued by the "spending big" comment

It's funny how all the tweets of the conference call at the time talked about Hahn going after the free agents, but not one of them included that he said "That doesn’t mean we can guarantee by any stretch that we’re going to convert on these targets.’’

This went from intriguing to entertaining to annoying. Thanks for sharing Jake, let’s hope for the best

that rumor about liking Chicago started when he named his dog Wrigley, and only exploded more when he told TMZ he likes the food in the city. Supposedly he grew up a Yanks fan though.

sorry if this was touched upon earlier, but does Vaughn project to be a 1st baseman?

could you imagine how tough it will be for greg to say who won the winter if the Sox sign Manny/Bryce and Royals sign Avi/Davidson?

Just wait until Stroman's a free agent

Also, get back to me when Thome recruits Manny on Instagram

Well, someone told Timmy that Manny would agree to play 3rd base

What if (and this is just hypothetical), they're able to unload Heyward on someone by giving up Contreras and Happ, etc?

oh god, Grandal is so Carlos Boozer (who by the way, Grandal fits what Hahn says about someone they would value for the future that they can't help when he's available. They've liked him in the past and they can point to his defensive stats).

Well you have the Phillies saying they'll offer "stupid" money and seemingly desperate to sign one of the big 2. If they miss out on Manny, then maybe they get into that stupid range.

and for someone about to make one of the biggest free agent decisions, if not the biggest, in sports history....his buddies sure have loose lips Just kidding peavy, I appreciate you sharing everything today.

especially with the Winter Meetings not even happening yet and Machado still on the market. I fully expect Manny to sign first, and then Harper sees how desperate the Phillies/Yankees get.

Who's to say you'd even want them after 4 years? If they're good enough to opt-out after 4 years, then it's likely they helped the Sox win a lot of games.
