Part of me feels that it's not as much about rebuilding as it is getting rid of Sale and his attitude -
Braves among teams showing interest in chris sale

QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 02:16 AM) Not a fan of Demeritte and Smith. Smith is a 4th OF. Brings one asset plus plus speed. Doesn't make enough contact and is a low obp. Has a very weak arm in the OF/30 grade arm. Demeritte has plus power, but has huge flaws with making contact and striking out too much. I believe he will not hit enough to be an everyday player. And was just acquired for Harrell -
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 01:06 AM) I agree, and I for one, am OK with that. I would do that deal right now for a couple of reasons. Number one reason is the chance Sale will blow out his arm and be out for a year with Tommy John. Second, I think Sale may still harbor some bad feelings toward management after the LaRoach fiasco and maybe even from before that. And more that any of that, I think Turner along with Tim Anderson would be a legit core to build a roster from. Also to me Sale seemed to be showing some warning signs in terms of all the pitches he's thrown in his career. Some games he seemed to struggle to reach 93mph.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 12:57 AM) I definitely think Houston is a much more likely landing spot for Chris now than they were just 24 hours ago. Less likely to me, with Yanks being more likely

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 12:20 AM) Yay.....another Sale thread to keep up with. But i'll bite. Sale, Frazier, and Jones to Yankees for.... (mlb.com rankings) #1 OF Clint Frazier #2 SS Gleyber Torres #5 OF Blake Rutherford #8 SP Domingo Acevedo #9 SP James Kaprielian #14 SP Chance Adams No way you give up three good to great trade chips and not get Sanchez back

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 12:30 AM) Take all of this with a giant grain of salt: I have a buddy from Atlanta that is plugged in locally that I talk NFL Draft with. He's a Braves fan. He claims to have a friend that is a scout for Atlanta. He told me that Atlanta can't get Sale because they aren't willing to trade Maitan or Dansby. He said it's Quintana that they are going after. He mentioned Sean Newcomb, Travis Demeritte, and Mallex Smith. That's not enough for Q but like I said this is what he told me. I like those three they offer if there was one more key piece like Allard or Maitan -

Ga Tech was in a similar spot with Paul Hewitt a while back and kept him around because he got Favors. It set the program back big time waiting a few more years. -

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 11:41 PM) The Tilmon signing removes Groce from the hot seat at this point. If he blows this, he's done in 2019. He should be fired if they don't make the tournament. No recruit is more important than the coach in place -
QUOTE (Username @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:59 PM) So...where does Bregman play? Maybe Gurriel to First, but still. He will play 3b and Yuli at 1B
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 12:34 AM) I would have guessed closer to 100 million than 50 million for him. He looked awful with the Dodgers. Looked way skinnier and no bat speed

Rumor: Reported Potential Red Sox package for Sale
fathom replied to Bigsoxhurt35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Rather have ERod than Kopech -
Sox only deal with Yankees if Sanchez is involved in my opinion, and that's not happening
-
QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 01:40 AM) Benintendi Devers Kopesch Eduardo Rodriguez Blake Swihart 1 of Jake Cosart, Deven Marrero, Trey Ball, Christian Vasquez, or Brian Johnson To me this still seems like the most likely outcome if a Boston deal were to happen. I know some here might think it's a little light, but I'd be happy with this haul. This + smart moves with Melky, Frazier, and Robertson and we could be setup nicely for a quick turn around in my opinion. No need to move Q, Eaton, and Abreu just yet No way does Boston give up that much
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 12:28 AM) Callis talking about a package from Boston of JBJ, Moncada or Benintendi, Devers and Kopech. No chance
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 01:24 AM) Micah Johnson back or no deal. Trayce more likely
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 01:17 AM) I think Jones to BOS is a damn near certainty if the Sox end up moving guys. I'm still hopeful of Jones for Josh Bell
-
In three years, I would be shocked if urias isn't better than Sale
-
Yadier Alvarez is another big prospect that could be in talks
-
Also wouldn't shock me at all if the Sox were interested in Joc
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 12:58 AM) Urias has to be involved. Yep and Bellinger. I say: Sale, Frazier for urias, puig, Bellinger, Barnes and Lux

Have a game Jay

The idea of watching Carlos Sanchez ground out to 2nd base for an entire season makes me want to vomit, but hey....rebuilding!

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 12:46 AM) I don't follow much beyond the B1G schools in basketball recruiting, but is there a Power 5 school in the country with worse luck with de-commits than Illinois? I know de-commits happen all the time in football, but they seem to be way less prevalent in basketball. In the last decade, we've had Gordon, Snider, and now probably Tilmon all flip right around signing day. What the hell is wrong with this program? Snider and Tilmon aren't almost unprecedented in terms of their late change of heart -
Lawrie to Angels for mid-level prospect is my guess

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 05:51 PM) Hmm. Thanks for sharing. Didn't realize the advanced stats hated him THAT much. The eye test would say he is mediocre defensive 1B, but clearly the stats say otherwise. His range is non-existent. Actually cost the sox quite a few games.
