  1. Two straight years for Sale where his ERA seems too high for someone with his stuff
  2. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) Sale demolished Fitting end to this horrible season. Good thing they pushed Sale as hard as possible.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 01:34 AM) Renteria being the bench coach had a say in most of the decisions some call Robin a fool for making. If you really don't think Robin had clue, you should probably not like this hire. Would have preferred someone outside the organization, but just happy Robin is gone. Needed to happen for the fan base
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 12:31 AM) Barstool guy if you consider him legit. Sounds a little more to me like reading the tea leaves. Also interesting tweet by him about Sox and free agency
  5. Makes sense, not sure why they leaked the Ventura stuff the other day
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) AND WE ALL AGREE: UNLESS THIS HITS TRESTMANIAN LEVEL DISASTER, WE ALL SHALL STAND BACK AND WAIT FOR BETTER TO HAPPEN (except fathom and jenks who have their finger on the ejection button) I don't think Fox should be fired unless this team starts losing every game 40-10
  7. Kaplan thinks he's gone https://mobile.twitter.com/thekapman/status...500000626810880
  8. Maybe I read it wrong, but are they going after a big money pitcher next July? Seemed that way
  9. Anderson has squared up the ball in 7 of 10 at bats this series. Great to see
  10. One more thing to add...the quoted by Robin today look like someone who's not coming back. If he was, he would have reiterated what he said in August and that he is hopeful to work something out.
  11. The Sox should have never leaked this. The optics look awful tonight with so many media members speculating that a manager no one wants here might not even want to stay here. If they were going to bring him back, then the deal should have been finalized before leaking anything.
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 04:19 AM) If you want an idea how the White Sox FO really feels about the fanbase, read that follow up Nightengale piece. f*** this organization. Yep, what a joke. They have done everything in their power to push away their fan base this season. The reaction I have seen online by Sox fans today might as well have made this White Flag 2.0 in terms of upsetting Sox fans.
  13. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 02:58 AM) Fulmer is going to regress, Boyd is bad, and Zimmermann can't strike out anyone anymore, that deal isn't going to look good. Norris also
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 01:28 AM) The Tigers collapse is going to be prolonged and ugly. The dead contracts are going to just kill them. Some great moves last season has really helped their pitching future.
  15. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 11:31 PM) I actually considered the second scenario to some extent as well. No reason to fire a manager when the influx of talent they are building at the lower levels is still a bit of time away. Keep RV on the cheap for another year or so until the true deadline for a decision on the manager arrives. With that said, I'd be curious to hear the opinion of the MiLB junkies on this site as to how far the farm system has come in the past few years. I am encouraged by the more positive postings and feedback on the lower levels. Should we expect a true renaissance of the farm system. Has there been noticeable change and improvement over the past 3-5 years in Sox scouting, signings, and player development? If so, do RH and/or KW deserve credit for this anticipated improvement? If yes, is it possible the Sox are just trying to buy a little more time until the true plan comes to fruition? I'll hang up and listen for your answers. Thanks. In my opinion, the farm system had a dreadful season outside of the incoming draftees. No one really came out of nowhere to become a significant prospect.
  16. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 09:02 PM) If true all you can do is shake your head. Mark And just reiterates to me that I don't want these decision makers deciding who they should get back in return for Sale
  17. Also might have been waiting for Twins to not hire McLeod
  18. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) The deal could have already been finished whenever ago, it's the announcement I think they timed. But to have Ricketts and Theo available to meet on such quick notice with the press? Hard to imagine
  19. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) I might just have tunnel vision but the timing seems too close to be a coincidence. They see it as a marketing opportunity to dejected Sox fans, maybe? "Hey, while the other team is waffling about whether they want to rehire their hated manager, we just extended our front office Golden Boy." I doubt the Cubs care one bit about the Sox right now. Also, no way they could arrange the move this quickly with the Nightengale tweet a few hours ago.
  20. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Something we should ALL agree on. Very lackluster announcement that day they announced him as manager I will never forget cringing during his conference call when listening to it on the radio. I didn't even mind the hire at the time, but his lack of energy was startling
  21. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Does the Sox brass live in a different reality than we do because I've seen 4 years of bad baseball and nothing has really improved one season to the next. The Sox are just as bad as they were in 2011. Of course they do, they thought Shields could actually succeed here
