I won't be around this weekend, so enjoy the game threads and hopefully the Sox can win a few games this weekend to avoid falling 8.5 games out.

FYI, Sox have scored 2 runs or less in over half their games (8/15). No clue what they can do to fix things at this point, to be honest.

Biggest issue with Sox lineup right now is that there is no power at all outside of Abreu/LaRoche. Hard to score a lot of runs when you have minimal power and a team that doesn't walk much. 3rd base is a position that looks to need a serious upgrade. With Johnson/Eaton on this roster likely to be starting for the next few seasons, you can't have gaping power issues in RF and 3B as well.

Said this a lot last year, but Petricka has got to develop a better offspeed pitch.

It makes little sense for the outfield to be playing so deep with Dyson on first base. Anything close to a double and he easily scores.
