  3. Noesi's throwing meatballs out there.
  4. Awesome to see that on a night where Danish seemed to struggle, he still put up good numbers. I still predict he's a top 100 prospect by most publications before next season begins.
  5. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 16, 2014 -> 12:42 AM) Well this is fun. Yes!
  6. Maybe the best Abreu at bat in a week.
  7. Shocked how loud the Blue Jays fans are. Good thing, as there doesn't appear to be many Sox fans in attendance.
  8. Good stuff here http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/game...140814_29764346
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 12:44 AM) Alcantara has already been slumping after a nice start. Baez with 13 K's in 33 AB's, although a bit of an improvement over 10/23. Baez just destroyed one out of Wrigley. When he hits the ball, he hits it hard as hell.
  10. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 · 47s And now we see 97 from Rodon. And then an 88 mph slider for another taken strike three. Fun to watch. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 · 15s Rodon starts out third consistently at 95-96, gets k to start the inning with a freeze ya 87 slider.
  11. JJ Cooper @jjcoop36 · 4m We're getting the top of the draft nasty Carlos Rodon tonight. 93-96 with a wicked slider.
  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 10:36 PM) I'm tired of Hawk embarrassing the Sox it's time to move on. Stone is excellent and Hawk drags him down. I've defended hawk for years, that time is over. The sad thing is that his comments might become more of a focal point in the media instead of the actual stupid rule he was upset about.
  13. I'm going to try and stay positive and suggest that who knows, maybe this will keep the team in the top 10 draft pick when the season ends.
  14. 13 runs in last 8 games for the Sox. The play at home will overshadow the fact the offense has gone ice cold. I posted this in the Abreu thread, but it will be interesting to see if he even hits 40 homers now.
  15. Another game with Abreu unable to get the ball out of the infield.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 10:04 PM) Parent made a huge mistake bringing in Belisario and taking out Jordan in CF I had to walk away after the play at the plate, and was shocked to see that Q was out of the game when Pagan was up. Reminds me of when Sale got pulled in Boston in the 8th.
  17. Belisario absolutely should be released after this outing. 4 out of his last 6 games, he's gotten destroyed.
  18. Nothing like putting your 5th best reliever in that spot.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 10:56 PM) Belly is DFA material at this point. Absolutely, I have no idea why he keeps pitching in the spots he does. Webb has been much better this year, at least give him some high leverage spots.
  20. Wow, why was Q pulled? Pagan is significantly better vs RHP. oh well
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 10:53 PM) They need to re-write the rule right away. I don't think it's actually prevented any collisions. Instead, it's just given teams runs when they shouldn't have gotten them. Ironic thing is there would have been a national outcry last night if Posey was ruled as blocking the plate. Aspects of instant replay have really hurt the game watching experience this year.
  22. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 08:41 PM) Like I said yesterday Adam Dunn kills San Fran pitching! Atta boy Donkey! good call
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) I think "When the announcing team calls out how he looks at the plate, whether from exhaustion or injury, it is an appropriate time to give him a day off" is a reasonable standard to me. They've done it twice this year. The last time, he played until he couldn't walk. That's why I'm calling this out now. It's time again. Even when he was getting a single every game a week ago or so, I made mention about how he couldn't catch up to the fastball like he was a month ago. Hopefully he rediscovers the loft in his swing, as right now he's doing his best Avi impression.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) My guess is that they are approaching this year for Abreu as if he was a pitcher building up his innings, and trying to have him on the field as much as possible, to condition his body to play 150 games annually. As much as I think he should get a day off every two weeks or so, I completely agree with you on this. Also, they probably want to see how he reacts to one of his biggest slumps of the year.
  25. This offense having a hard time even getting hits on this road trip.
