  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 07:47 PM) I haven't been able to watch, is he throwing the cutter today? Not from what I've seen
  2. Rienzo has been awesome so far
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 06:10 PM) Has Rienzo used his cutter much nope
  4. Longest HR I've ever seen by a Sox player at this park
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) Nice way to work out of it Yep, increased his velocity 3 mph on the high fastball to get Iglesias.
  6. Stone asks Hawk what he thinks of Iglesias so far, and Hawk didn't provide any answer...haha
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) Our OF is the strength of our team, other than SS. I'm happy to increase production there, but I don't like Ethier. He's basically a LH Rios who makes more money and has fewer tools. Probably the first time all year strength and Alexei were used in the same sentence. When Travis Wood has the same amount of home runs as your double play combination, you are in definite need of an increase in production at those positions.
  8. Rienzo's velocity way down from his last start
  9. Ethier is a platoon player now
  10. I think Rienzo works faster than Buehrle.
  11. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 02:26 AM) What do you mean? Appel Cosart Folty McCullers Seems to me they'd want a LHP instead of a RHP if it's a close call.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 12:20 AM) OTL Now running that the suspensions all come Monday, 12 players to be suspended (not the previously reported 8), negotiations with ARoid broke down today and no deal is expected to be reached with him. So are they suggesting there are more players to be announced that haven't already been made public?
  13. Andrew Mitchell with a tough 4th inning.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) I don't necessarily agree with this. If the Sox want a college pitcher, maybe. If Gatewood or Jackson has a huge HS year then the Sox even at #3 would be sitting pretty for those guys. If Beede has a big year he could be there as well. There is a lot of college pitching talent in this draft. Obviously a lot can change, but I don't see the Marlins taking a HS player that high. If Hoffman does end up being the projected #1 and Astros get the first pick, I'm not so sure they take a RHP given their organization right now. Rondon would make a lot more sense.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 01:52 AM) Avisail ripped a single through the middle for an RBI They gave the SS an error
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 02:43 AM) Man I wish I could be as bad at my job as the White Sox players and coaches and make the kind of money they do. WTF? Loss after loss after loss. Yay! We get some pitcher as No. 1 draft pick in 2014. Just what we need, another good pitcher. What this organization needs is more talent. Why not root for Hahn to have the best chance possible of acquiring the most talented players available?
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 01:37 AM) I was in favor of trading Peavy and we got a good haul in return for him, but he's another guy I'd want on my re-built Sox team cause of his attitude. Sox have a bunch of passive pathetics IMO. Peavy's "attitude" sure did wonders to motivate the team this season.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 01:29 AM) Offense lighting it up again how anyone would pay to see this team at this point is beyond me. Ventura might as well shake up the lineup, it's not like things can get worse.
  19. Goodness, what a HR machine Danks is.
  20. Thanks for posting that podcast. Those guys surely love them some Hoffman. Funny thing is his stats aren't that great in the Cape Cod season going on.
  21. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 01:43 AM) Super early, but it really looks like college pitchers are going to dominate the top of the draft where the White Sox will sit. Some pretty good prep bats too, but not much in the way of college bats (save Trea Turner) which I'm sure will disappoint many around here. I've always been a proponent of BPA and it has to be the case when likely picking in the top 3. I can't see Turner being in play for the White Sox given who's in the system.
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 3, 2013 -> 01:21 AM) Apparently he's looked fantastic in this year's Cape Cod. Kiley McDaniel talks about him in a recent podcast. Ahtletic, fastball sits around 95, three plus pitches. Just a name to keep in mind. Video. Thanks for the info. I just saw a comparison to Verlander for him. The great thing about having such a high pick is that if a few players blow up (ie: J. Gray this year), you're almost guaranteed to get a big time prospect. For the most part, gone are the days of salary demands for top prospects causing them to fall in the draft.
