I had no idea Carrasco's pitched as well as he has since the ASB last year. He has a 1.59 ERA in that time with more K than IP.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) A lot of pitchers have problems throwing off flat ground after being on the mound for a while. Julian Tavarez was the worst

There's a definite chance Anderson becomes expendable if his defense tanks this year and Johnson plays well.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 03:10 AM) Cubs have won back to back games coming from behind now. Reds are gonna trade Aroldis, aren't they? That team has no pitching outside of Cueto

This Cubs bullpen is pretty good. Great stuff to go with Maddon's ability to manage a bullpen should make this group one of the best in baseball. That Feldman deal gets more ridiculous every year

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 02:19 AM) The Lester stuff seems to be a very real issue. The guy hasn't thrown to 1st base since 2013, and for whatever reason people finally caught on. It almost seemed like the Cubs wanted to prove he could do it, and they found out why he hasn't......something is up. He had nothing on his pitches tonight, which is odd coming after a week off. Their real ace goes tomorrow

lester looked terrible. Sadly the Reds have no one to get the ball to Chapman. Soler is a superstar

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 12:11 AM) Don't forget Adams, and maybe Davidson putting himself back in the conversation. That would probably be Hahn's preference, that Matt makes himself a legitimate part of the 3B/DH conversation. At this point, if Davidson can turn himself into a 3rd base platoon player, I'll take it.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Anderson 3-5, 2 RBI, 1 E Pretty sure he's been picked off twice already this year. Great offensive start for him though.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 11:00 PM) JD Martinez. He hasn't skipped a beat. What a pick up for the kitties. Houston could have easily had JD Martinez, Kris Bryant and Carlos Rodon. Instead all they have is Mark Appel.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 09:53 PM) I honestly wonder if the price would be as high as we all think. Prospect returns seem to be dropping in trades for stars. For him, I think it would as Tampa would have to be able to justify it to their fans.

So Kendrys Morales is hitting 450 foot homers now?

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 06:09 PM) Sounds about right. I'm looking forward to watching it but it seems I was right not to regard it as appointment television. There were some tidbits that I hadn't heard of before. I thought it was very good.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 06:22 PM) I guess since the price of trading for Longoria out of the Cubs probably would be Soler+ that might make some sense, but hard to call that an ideal matchup. Baez is their main trade chip now, and it wouldn't surprise me if they moved him sooner rather than later before his star fades even more.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) Huh? He's going to end up in LF, IMO

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 03:30 PM) 2 of those wouldn't be close to getting Longoria. Sadly, the Cubs make a lot of sense as a trade partner for Longoria.

Was that Jenks' necklace that went flying after the final out of the WS? Almost looks like it was in his hand as soon as he threw the last pitch

QUOTE (lord chas @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 12:09 AM) The Rockies seriously don't have any better options? They do, but the power of the "save"

How in the hell is Hawkins a closer? Meatball galore

No errors yet for Anderson! I wonder if Hayes will bail him out more than Barnum did.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) I haven't seen a lot of decent contact. It'd be one thing if he was hitting hard grounders and liners, but a lot of his outs are weak pop ups. Too far off the plate. He isn't handling slow and away

Johnson gonna need some platoon protection against LHP

Boyer has a nice WAR for the Sox this year

Hall of Famer!

Nice response!
