QUOTE (JoshPR @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 02:57 AM) Avi not good He's not doing a lot of good things at the plate to put him in position to succeed. He can't hit the fastball, and he's opening up WAY too early against offspeed stuff.

Abreu's starting to do a great job of taking pitches as well.

QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 02:49 AM) Eh, I could see Ale' getting offered Arb. He actually turned it around the past couple months. I think his mental errors on the field were just too much for them to deal with.

Scot Gregor @scotgregor · 2m Hahn says trading Beckham, De Aza frees up $10 million-plus for 2015 that can go to other players

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 02:34 AM) Counting defense? Absolutely if we're considering them at 2nd base. I've always thought Leury's defense is overrated, and Sanchez seems solid, but not spectacular.

I'm confident in saying Semien is a far superior player to Sanchez and L. Garcia.

Davidson doing everything he can to get under .200 by the end of the year.

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 02:27 AM) Didn't Contreras and Thome leave on the same night? We got time tomorrow. Yep, I was thinking this might only be the beginning tonight. Still think Dunn gets dealt.

Makes me wonder if they give Viciedo all of the at bats the rest of the way in LF, or if they give them to Sierra or Mitchell.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 01:17 AM) Dbacks stupid to dump Bauer even though he's a bit of a head case...if indians infield prospect Lindor lives up to his promise along with Salazar, kluber, Brantley, kipnis, Santana...they might be the best team in the central right now...giving the royals fits Definitely the best manager Carrasco looks fully healed

Amazing they couldn't score off of this pitcher in 6 innings.

Avi's got to get his hands on top of the fastball. He hasn't been able to do that on the 89 mph fastballs from Ryan.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 01:50 AM) The obvious answer here is that we've traded Andy Wilkins. lol. Nicely done

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 01:45 AM) Rodon probably done. 5 inn, 7 hits, 2 er, 3 bb, 7 k, 1 hbp 81 pitches-48 strikes. It sure does seem like once runners get into scoring position off of Rodon, he really shuts the door.

Dunn traded is the heavy favorite, IMO. I'm guessing to Baltimore

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 01:34 AM) What would make you deduce that? Wilkins being lifted from the game for his call-up? While I find it weird that he got singled out from the AAA game, I don't think we can be lucky enough to think Dunn has been traded. I think it's very likely. Who else would be getting dealt that would result in Wilkins getting called up?

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 12:29 AM) Avi's swing looking more like Baez lately. He's always had solid success at the MLB level, but I truly believe his entire swing needs to be changed. He's too big and strong to barely get his lower half into his swing. Until it's fixed, he's nothing more than a complimentary player.

Soler is a better player than Avi already, IMO.

Not a good start for Bassitt. I'm not sure if that's a slider he's trying to throw, but it's something that needs work on.

QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 01:02 AM) I think his curve shows a fair amount of promise, hopefully he can develop into a solid back end pitcher. Started throwing it a little better the last two batters.

Viciedo is just a disaster in the outfield right now. Bassitt doesn't seem to have a strike out pitch.

Things not going well for Rodon tonight

The Orioles opened up two spots today on their 40 man roster, so it would surprise me if it's not Dunn to Baltimore.

Nice win, time for Bassitt to shine.
