QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:48 AM) boy Mark B. is off to a bad start in Toronto I'm shocked he's struggling vs Yanks and Red Sox.

Early ChiSox Draft Ideas
QUOTE (oldsox @ May 1, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) Unfortunately, our pick in 2014 will be much higher than our 2013 pick. If you're going to be awful, be good at being awful. If they aren't making the playoffs, much rather the Sox get a top 7-8 pick than in the 20 range.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:45 AM) now it's just easy outs With none on and two outs, Konerko needs to be swinging out of his ass and not trying to flip a single into right field.

Very weak swings in hitters counts this inning. This offense is so damn boring.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:39 AM) Yikes... Ryan Raburn over his last 13 at-bats: .923 batting average, 4 HR, 9 RBIs, 1.846 slugging percentage, 2.769 OPS Quite the resurgence for him after last year's debacle of a season.

QUOTE (oldsox @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:37 AM) Wonder if he always had that open stance...... He did last year.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:32 AM) Glad the Sox are paying him for a career year. Teahen 2.0 as of now. If he continues to struggle over the next month, he's going to turn into an expensive utility player. The good news is Gillaspie is earning Keppinger's playing time.

Another bonehead play by De Aza

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:25 AM) I don't want this to be true, but I suspect you're right. More likely it's at least until the AS break. The thing I'll never understand is how they thought Flowers would be a good candidate to get the majority of the playing time in the AL Central. Have fun having him face Verlander/Scherzer/Sanchez, etc.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:22 AM) Flowers has left 6 on already numbers gets worse and worse. Rangers announcers said Ranger pitchers are exploiting Sox hitters and between Dunn, Flowers and De Aza they average 1 strike out every 3 ab's no wonder Sox are last in RISP. Flowers has no prayer on anything slow and low right now. He has never shown any ability in the majors to hit that pitch.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:18 AM) C'mon Flowers, prove us wrong I'm sure there will be an article next week saying he had a great batting practice session and has figured things out.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:20 AM) RICK HAHN PLEASE MAKE IT STOP No way, they have to give Flowers the whole year to prove he belongs. They had to know this was a possibility coming into the season. It's far too early to give up on their plan coming into the year with him.

1-19 with RISP for Flowers this year.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:13 AM) Sigh. At least we're getting his pitch count up a LITTLE bit. Screw that, this pitcher sucks, much better chance of scoring runs off of him than their relievers.

Something I don't get is why in the world is Flowers batting 8th and Wise 9th? If anything, you want to make it harder for opposition to bring in a lefty with it being Wise/Flowers/ADA. Instead, you make it much easier for opposition to play the match-ups.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:51 AM) I think he's tipping his pitches. After watching the replay, it sure seems like Baker knew an offspeed pitch was coming.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:54 AM) Is it comfortable, or frustrated/annoyed/overthrowing? His fastball looks good tonight. He's not pitching up in the zone effectively.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:51 AM) I think he's tipping his pitches. I don't think our catchers do a good job of adjusting from at bat to at bat. Seems like they get into a pattern and that's a big reason for the struggles later in the game for our starters.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:48 AM) Makes me think trading Peavy at mid-season before he wears down in the 2nd half wouldn't be the worst possible thing in the world, because he gets the Sox the highest amount back in return. Especially a contending NL team, maybe the Rockies or DBacks, that need another veteran pitcher to get them over the hump. Nobody else would get much back. Anyone that wouldn't trade Peavy in a heartbeat at the deadline if this team continues to stink is baseball stupid.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 2, 2013 -> 01:43 AM) Have they all been on "slower" fastballs or offspeed stuff? A ton of offspeed pitches it seems.

Sale has a good fastball tonight, he should be able to have solid results.
