QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) No way. The Bears have way too many holes to fill to trade up for one player. They need to use every draft pick they have. The Bears trading up for Te'o is actually one of three topics (can't remember the other two) that Boers and Bernstein won't allow callers to suggest now. After the price the Redskins had to pay to trade up for RGIII, I agree with you...far too many holes that will need to be filled to just focus on one player.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 04:33 AM) Meanwhile, the Rays stockpile more prospects for their farm and still have a deep rotation, full of young studs to choose from. They got amazing value for Shields, as they were considering dealing him at the deadline last year when he had gotten off to a bad 2012.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 05:23 AM) The Royals are definitely better but no where near a contender. Just a stupid trade. Yep, on paper, still a big difference between Tigers and everyone else.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 05:20 AM) I think the Royals will be better in 2013, but for the long run they'll lose this trade. Kinda like that the AL Central teams are trying to get better. Force the Sox to do something even bigger if they intend to win 90 games next year. Yep, at this time, I think this trade puts KC in a better position to move in front of the White Sox. In the long run, it seems like KC loaded up their farm system for a good, but not great return. You have to wonder if they could have gotten Price for this package of players.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) That's not true at all. I need an explanation why Allen was in the game there. Sorry, I meant for the offense in general. I think Jeffery will be good in a few years, but he just doesn't get enough consistent separation.

Cutler has been a better runner than a passer this year.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) I disagree that he has to make the playoffs...can't put last year on him and the year before he had us in the Conf Championship game...even this year we really have no bad losses outside of last week, which isn't a terrible loss. I don't mind Lovie as a coach (shocking I know, coming form me). However, everyone in the Chicago media seems to be sure that he's gone if they miss out on the playoffs this year.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2012 -> 06:15 AM) Seriously though, I dont know why experts are sleeping on Big Ten teams. We ALL know how talented we thought Illinois was the past few years and were disappointed with their performance. Groce is a whole different animal and brings alot to the table. Conference play is going to be f***ing awesome. Right now there are some of the best guards in America in this conference. Not to mention probably the best big guy and a few of the best wings. Add in some REALLYT great freshman (impressed as hell with Robinson) and this is a seriously talented bunch. I love watching Michigan play right now. It's still crazy to me that the best college player when I was growing up, the Big Dog, now has a son playing college hoops. I'm a huge T. Burke fan after seeing the Journey with him and your boy Sullinger.

I don't think I've ever seen a defense (Gonzaga) that was so bad at preventing the opposition from driving to their right for an easy layup. You'd think after the 20th time of it happening, they'd make the Illini offensive player go to their left.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 05:14 AM) It's also hard to have a "bad game" as a defensive player. Aren't in the spotlight and the stats aren't there for it to be a bad game, besides # of tackles which I guarantee no one knows how many tackles he had in what game. It's comparing apples to oranges. Silly to use "bad games" against him. Much tougher measuring stick. Yep, Jesse Palmer has been making that same point for the last two weeks. The last month of the season, you would have thought Te'o was the 5th or 6th best defensive plalyer on that team (that is if the camera stopped showing him after every single play, even if he wasn't within 20 yards of it). If you would have told me there was a defensive player that won the most awards ever in a season, I would have pictured that person to play like Ray Lewis in his prime and not as a glorified safety.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 04:31 AM) Amazing what a sob story can do for some. Sorry, its true. There are better players out there this year, but instead, they're loading up Te'o with awards for having a 'very good' but not 'great/fantastic' season. Jarvis Jones has had a much tougher life than Te'o has, had superior stats, and he seems to be an afterthought in these awards.
