  1. It's amazing how often Mitchell and Thompson strike out
  2. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:35 AM) Well it looks like its academic, since we brought in a scrub to face Cabrera and Fielder. Valverde sucks in my opinion and is very hittable but it won't matter now that we're going to be down a big number it appears Omogrosso's actually been our best reliever since the ASB. Unfortunately, Ventura has really no reliable options out there right now. You get the feeling KW's going to have to overpay for a veteran reliever.
  3. Hard to win games when you can't score late and you bullpen sucks.
  4. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:32 AM) I'm starting to feelbthat way. If we don't get a reliable offense back, we're done. You mean like what happens after the ASB seemingly every year with the Sox? I'd love to see a stat comparing OPS before and after the ASB for the Sox since 2003.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:30 AM) Not a chance. The tigers aren't that great. They're pretty damn good right now. A very confident team that sounds like they're going to add a starting pitcher by the deadline.
  6. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:30 AM) Beckham is back to being bad at the plate. Looks completely lost. At least he swung hard and pulled a ball today. He's looked terrible since the game he got put in the 9th spot in the lineup. He's absolutely a candidate for a change of scenery trade this offseason.
  7. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:28 AM) Anyone else get the feeling we're watching the end of our season? I hope not, but it could've started with Cody Ross' bat flip last night Disagree, losing to Verlander is no big shame. All it takes is one win Saturday or Sunday to go back to the Cell in first place.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:28 AM) I think we win Saturday and Sunday Porcello's dominated the Sox so far this year. Offense needs to show up tomorrow, as the Tigers have a lot of momentum going right now. Their 3/4 hitters seem extremely confident while Dunn/Konerko seem to be happy just to make contact.
  9. At least the Sox have the right guys coming up to face Valverde in the 9th.
  10. Wow, unreal pitch by Verlander. Sox need to start scoring in the late innings of games. Only scored from the 7th inning on in one game since the ASB.
  11. Alexei's defense has been awesome of late. He's playing really good baseball.
  12. Peavy's absolutely gassed. These pitch counts for Peavy are crazy.
  13. Castro with an excellent start tonight. Also, how does Mitchell have 12 errors in the outfield?
  14. Sox making sure Verlander has a chance to complete this game
  15. Peavy really pitching great outside of one inning today. Hopefully it doesn't cost him the game.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:55 AM) Hate to lose on an RBI from a rabid anti-Semite Yeah, that case sure was quieted down
  17. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 12:51 AM) So true. Especially Beckham. I don't think he's turned and burned since 2009 He was when he was batting 2nd. He's batting .182 in the 9th spot...not exactly shocking
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 12:48 AM) crap looked like Dunn killed that. When was the last time PK turned around a good FB like he used to do all th time? Vs Samardzija? I can't remember the last time Konerko or Beckham turned on a fastball and unloaded on it.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) is anyone else shocked hawk didn't give that a "stretch" He must have heard you, as that ball was 30 feet from the fence.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:42 AM) Everythihing is away to Cabrera. If we don't bust him in at least once in a while that's gonna be a HR to right next time and not a fly out Just watched the replays of the Tigers RBI hits from the 3rd. That was a really bad 3-2 pitch to Cabrera.
  21. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:39 AM) Well no one will pick up his option considering his injury history. But they might as well attempt an extension, otherwise if they don't and let him walk that pretty much assures they have no intention on winning anything next year. Or they don't know how much they can trust him to stay healthy? I think people are going to be shocked by how much Peavy gets on the open market (more than expected, IMO).
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) is anyone else shocked hawk didn't give that a "stretch" I thought that was gone off the bat.
  23. QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) This one is over. Sox won't score again. This offense is brutal and the pitching is very suspect. Really have to think about selling some pieces. Not a chance they go into sell mode. Only chance they think about getting rid of anyone is if it's a waiver wire deal if the team falls out of contention next month. I don't think that will happen.
