  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) I don't think anyone would expect them to beat the Angels or Rangers in the Wild Card game. Let's just face it, the Tigers are better, especially with the injury to Danks and the rookies filling up the pen. We will forever be haunted by Escobar, Thornton and Reed from Thursday night's game...and Ventura's inexperience. Sorry, but the team was struggling before that choke job and the Tigers were playing their best baseball of the year.
  2. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) They will be adding a starting pitcher before the deadline. Yep, sounds like they're aiming high.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) There have actually been 22 worse starting pitchers this season than Humber. Dating back to last year's ASB?
  4. Turner has one good start this year, one bad start. It's not like he's had a 6 ERA for the entire season. Of course he had no issues with the 7/8/9 of the Sox lineup today, which is about AAA caliber.
  5. QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) Why? The last time I checked, the pitcher doesn't hit in the AL. This team can't score runs. Why trade for pitching when they get zero support. This team needs a firesale. Stop with the fire sale comments please, it would just destroy this franchise and outside of Peavy, it's not like there's anyone on the team that has trade value who would be dealt.
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 05:32 PM) Trade for a SP. They have nothing to lose, this team isn't going to be very good next year if they don't at least make it to the ALCS this year. Unless the offense magically reappears, adding one starting pitcher isn't going to lead the way to the promise land. Also, there is absolutely no way for you to predict how the team will be next season.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) It was nice of Humber to make the trip I wonder if he'll use the elbow excuse again to explain his suckiness this season? He's literally been one of the worst pitchers in baseball over the last year.
  8. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) Danks needs to come back fast. If they continue to falter, I have no problem with them shutting him down.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Humber experiment needs to come to a end. With his next start coming in Texas, we might be seeing the end of the Humber era next weekend.
  10. The handling of the rotation sure has back-fired the last few weeks. I swear Austin Jackson should be AL Central MVP
  11. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 06:14 PM) Thank god. Should be 2-0 right now but whatever... How so?
  12. Stupid to have Flowers play today when Sox face a LHP tomorrow
  13. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 04:21 AM) Paulie was 5-12 with 3BBs and only 1K in the Boston series. The problem is he's taking swings that would make Morel proud. The Sox don't need a #4 hitter who can occasionally flare a cheap single to right field.
  14. I liked the movie, but I was shocked at how little "Batman" was involved in this movie. As usual, JGL was awesome.
  15. I honestly have no idea what KW should do right now. The offense needs help but there's no one you flat out bench. I say go with what we have right now.
  16. Just checked in to see Sale had a bad game. The team is really struggling right now
  17. Nicely done Sale! Hope he's ok, as he got a fastball up to 93mph there
  18. Cooper on the phone with bullpen...uh oh
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) Great start to this inning. Jesus. Sale's velocity is way down. But hey, he got to pitch in the ASG!!
  20. Walking their 8 and 9 hitters...yuck. Hopefully Sale is ok
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) He isn't going to move Konerko down. It's the typical sox tomorrow is always there. Yep, and it's a gigantic mistake not to.
  22. QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) I seriously have a feeling we get no hit today. Fire away at me, and I hope I'm wrong, but it isn't looking good. No chance of a no-no today by Porcello.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) Can we trade for a new offense? So we're scoring what, about 1.25 runs per game in our last 4 losses? 3 runs or less in 6 of 8 games after the ASB. Maybe it takes falling out of first for Ventura to realize there's an issue and shuffle the lineup around?
  24. QUOTE (Caesar @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) What happened to Alexeis power? What happened to Beckham's power? This offense is terrible right now, and something has to be done to break up the string of righties at the bottom. Beckham's now 1 for his last 20.
