  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 01:08 AM) Considering that he hasn't won a start since June 22 and has an ERA of 7.26 since then, I sure as hell hope not. Like Guthrie and Chen
  2. Henderson Porcello on the mound so far. Sox struggling like crazy of late to score without the long ball. ADA, Youk, Rios and Ramirez all have cooled off big time. Hard to win when you're already without Konerko in the lineup. Team just has to find a way for a few bloops and then a blast.
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) Such pathetic offensive contributions. Is it a surprise that Beckham started to struggle once Konerko went down? It's like he needs perfect conditions to be mentally focused. He's probably blaming himself for his mentor getting injured.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 12:56 AM) Unfortunately, Anibal Sanchez can't pitch for DET again tonight. Yep, they have their ace on the mound
  5. Sox have to start playing better baseball. Too many mental errors of late, like letting players steal 3rd.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 12:50 AM) I don't understand the Wise bashing. He got an RBI the other day. He's here because the Sox have no farm system. Just have to deal with it until Konerko gets back and September 1st gets here. I still would have rather seen Dan Johnson over Wise or Danks, but Wise provides more offense than Danks at this moment.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 11:42 PM) Come ADA, need to take advantage of that break Awful time for ADA's worst slump of the year.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 10:45 PM) You like Dewayne Wise batting second? Other than that, it looks good. I wouldn't have been upset if Beckham was 2nd and Wise was 9th. However, I'm just happy to see Rios finally batting 3rd.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:44 PM) I think the biggest difference there is the NL Central vs the NL East. I think part of the reason the finish for the Marlins is so different is the division they are in really tough. It's going to be tough for the Marlins to jump back into the top of the NL East. The Nationals look pretty legit for the next few years, and the Braves have a strong core as well. It's unlikely the Phillies will be as bad as they were this year in upcoming years as well.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 04:11 AM) HBK's character right now is an embarrassment to HBK. Ever since they made AJ the GM, I've found Raw to be unwatchable. Hopefully the PPV gets things to be interesting again.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:36 AM) Takes some big stones to load the bases up with Jones in. If there are two players in the majors that I always expect to hit into a DP in clutch situations, it's Juan Rivera and Escobar
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:33 AM) 5-5 vs. the Twins on the year. Sox are 9-3 against MIN, but of course they are the only ones who lose to bad teams. Twins have a pretty solid offense, especially against righties (which that's all Detroit has)
  13. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:28 AM) If Nate Jones is pitching to Escobar they still lose this game. Hell of a lot better chance at a DP at least than getting out Cooper, who IMO is their 2nd best hitter in this awful lineup.
  14. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:27 AM) Sox are 15-14 since the ASB, not exactly getting it done. They could easily be 3-4 games back of Detroit if the tigers hadn't been just as mediocre. Well, it's better than going 20-9 but being 4 games out cause the Tigers wouldn't lose after the ASB Considering that the White Sox have played in so many tight games of late, I'm pretty content with being 2 games up.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:25 AM) The handling of Leyson has doomed him He looks absolutely scared to death in pressure situations. You absolutely cannot have such an unreliable loogy on your team.
  16. It's going to be a long series though if this offense looks like they did tonight. Dunn looked great, but with Konerko out, they absolutely cannot afford ADA not getting on base. At least we probably won't have to suffer from watching Flowers face another righty tomorrow.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:23 AM) Once you get to the 11th, you shouldn't start going rightly/lefty/righty. Had the game continued they were gonna run out of pitchers. Exactly, he over-managed. Also, the fact that Escobar leads their team with 15 double plays hit into and Cooper's hit into one was why I was hoping they'd walk him there.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) The pen has a lot of holes that you can't manage around on a daily basis. They didn't help themselves by keeping Septimo over Veal. It's pretty simple though, Crain in the 7th, Myers in the 8th, Reed in the 9th. One manager tonight went for it and used their reliever for two innings while Ventura decided to pull Crain.
  19. With Encarnacion being their main threat that you have to game plan for, why did Ventura pull Crain (who's just about the best pitcher in baseball against righties)? Just like with Coco Crisp from Saturday, Ventura made Kelly Johnson the center of his managing strategy that inning. Just brutal by Ventura.
  20. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 03:17 AM) Who cares. We need to be gaining ground not just trying to hole onto this 2 game lead. These games are gonna come back to bite us in the ass I'm afraid. Especially in Sept. Detroit owns KC and they play them alot I'll take being 2 games up after Thursday, as this offense has way too many easy outs with Konerko not playing and KW and company not interested in doing the right thing and releasing Hudson.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:15 AM) Rookie managers as well. +100000000000000000 Lots of bad decisions being made with this bullpen, and it's costing the Sox games.
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:15 AM) Nate Jones is awful. He was brought into a terrible situation there.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) Rookie pitchers f*** it up. What new? KW has got to be out there on waiver wire trying to get a few upgrades.
