  1. Can we just get Aviles to play 2nd next year for the Sox?
  2. Our hitters really have to learn how to foul off tough 2 strike pitches. They leave themselves to the umpire's mercy an awful lot.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 12:57 AM) Here we go again. Danks might be our 6th starter at this rate...the most expensive in the game, except for maybe Barry Zito. Zito's been great so far this year
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:49 AM) People have said his defense at 2b is worth a first year arb offer ($2.5 mil or so). You know I've predicted he'll be traded in one of those "flop for flop" deals this offseason.
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:48 AM) I do not like it but, KW will keep him around to justify he did not make a mistake drafting him. I completely disagree. No one blames KW for drafting him, but I can't see there being a chance in hell they bring him back next year if he struggles again this year.
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:47 AM) Beckham knew he would get 2 fastballs as looked horrid! I have no clue how he's supposed to make good contact when it seems like he's intentionally not getting his arms extended.
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:46 AM) Gordon is useless. I can't believe I'm saying it. Don't worry, only 140 games or so left in his Sox career.
  8. Beckham had no chance against fastballs right down the plate. I have no idea what they're doing with his mechanics.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:43 AM) Dammit tell me. Clearly it means Mike Lavalliere is not an athlete
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:42 AM) Morel looked like a different hitter up there... Strike 2 was a real nice swing
  11. How are the Cubs on the verge of being 5-1 against Halladay during his career?
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:35 AM) Danks has always done that. When he actually has his good change, it can be effective because they never see it...but if he elevates it... I'd love to see stats on this, cause I don't recall him throwing a lot of change-ups to lefties at all.
  13. It's kind of amazing how Floyd, Danks and Ramirez seemed to have peaked in 2008.
  14. Danks is just awful this year at keeping the opposition down after the Sox score. His stuff looks terrible this season and no idea why he's throwing a change-up to a lefty.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 01:28 AM) Seems like maybe this cold weather has gotten to him a bit...all his at bats on this home stand have sucked. Also hate to see two, first pitch outs against a pitcher with mediocre control.
  16. Great approach by AJ...just missed a 3 run homer. Huge AB for Rios Rios looking bad so far this series.
  17. The extra base machine strikes again. As for our #2 spot this year in the order, what a disaster!
  18. Jeffery was just fantastic two years ago. Much rather have him than Hill.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 11:52 PM) I think this is the pick they traded to Miami. I keep wondering why I see CHicago in this spot. Unless we all got it wrong and the Bears had kept the Miami pick. Hill and Martin were two guys I would have really liked but they are gone. I'd even think long and hard about Konz out of Wisconsin, just cause I think he'll be a probowl center. Hill has all the attributes you want in a WR except for one important one...he can't catch
  20. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) You have to stick with Mr. Screwball for now. If he doesn't do well, then Addison Reed would be next. However, then you have to rearrange the bullpen. You are going to need another righty set up man. And then you have to either send Santiago or Stewart down to AAA and bring up a righty reliever. No way do I want to see Thornton as a closer. He is doing great as setup and keeping his trade value high. Crain maybe..but he has to be 100% healthy which I don't think that he is. Prefer Reed though at this point. However no guarantee that Reed will do better than Santiago. Thornton can face lefties and righties, so having a righty set-up man isn't as important for Sox as it is a lot of teams. I'll never understand the thought process of having someone who's anywhere from your 4th to 6th best reliever being your closer. Thing is, it's not like Santiago's future is as a closer anyways.
  21. Marlins have no one to blame but themselves with regards to Heath Bell. When will teams stop getting fooled by the pitching numbers put up by Padres pitchers?
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 03:18 AM) 20,266 for a game against the BOSTON RED SOX? Brooks Boyer has to be thanking his lucky stars it wasn't in the high teens or it would SEEM even worse. Still a bit of a surprising number. What will be the reason this time, the NFL draft? Premium/dynamic pricing? The Bulls are playing? The Red Sox fans are aggravated with Valentine and John Henry? Bad weather? School's still in session. The way we lost the game yesterday afternoon has demoralized fans? After the way Boston played earlier this week in Minnesota, you'd have thought they would get a few of their casual/bandwagon fans back again...and Humber was coming off a perfect game and it was his first home appearance after that. It was pretty damn cold here tonight. Don't forget though they had cheaper pricing tonight in honor of Humber. I'm stunned at how bad the attendance has been this year though. Frustrating to see.
  23. Was Wilder responsible for signing Rienzo?
