QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:40 AM) I'm all for benching him, but there's no replacement. He lucked out by having Robin trust him and show he could come back and hold them down a couple of innings tonight. He's even luckier that a guy like Axelrod is his only competition at the moment (this is due to Stewart and Santiago being in the bullpen, they were by far our best rotation depth last season). When the competition becomes Quintana, we've got something cooking. It's not for right now. Cooper is going to have to do a little coaching with these right handers and hopefully both can turn it around...but we may only need one to do so. Floyd certainly gets the nod if they keep having similar outings Great post

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:34 AM) Hopefully Santiago still has it despite sitting on the bench Was hoping we'd see Jones start this inning.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:32 AM) You have to realize that Humber is extremely valuable to the White Sox if he can command his pitches at all. Humber has NOTHING has an outing like this where Axelrod will have everything working and have similar stat lines. Phil had a great year last year and had mystified many by not succeeding sooner. While we John is still hurt and there are no actual prospects in waiting to replace him I don't mind trying one more start to catch lightning in a bottle. It took some real mettle to settle down after that third inning. Humber had a great 1st half of the year last year. An ERA over 5 after the ASB raised some red flags.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:25 AM) I'm glad Robin didn't overreact. With a fresh bullpen I would have pulled him, but with the state of the pen you had to at least try to get more out of him -- it worked State of the pen is pretty damn fresh

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:24 AM) Do those of you who were calling for the Humber hook realize now that Robin made the right move? Four runs in three innings are not enough to pull your starter. Couple of hard hit balls at our defenders and a great diving catch by Alexei saved Humber. He did work ahead in the count more.

QUOTE (bobryansson @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:22 AM) CanNOT lay off high heat. It's not just that, but he can't get on top of high fastballs either.

Humber!! Nice inning, can he go 9?

Really good slider there by Humber. That looked like what he was throwing in the Seattle game.

Looks like they adjusted Hudson's positioning a little there!

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:53 AM) Well, it's not exactly a good contract. It was a gamble to sign him when he was healthy. Kenny should be extremely grateful that Santos has been bad/injured this year for Toronto

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:51 AM) Jesus Christ. Danks has a few bad starts and it's a bad contract? I'll never fault KW for giving Danks that contract. It was probably below market value, and it made sense. Kinda like how KW should have never been faulted for bringing in Dunn.

That was just a dreadful swing by PK on the 2-0
