  1. Danks throwing a lot more offspeed pitches. Even if the Sox lose tonight, Danks gaining more confidence in his offspeed stuff and Beckham having a few more good at bats would make tonight a positive for me.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:11 AM) Give it some time. I'm coming to the rescue soon. Please share stories about baseball players that your target demographic has actually heard of before. That's easily the biggest complaint I'd have about Farmer and Hawk. If most of us "baseball historians" don't even really know who they're talking about, then I can't imagine what casual listeners are thinking.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) He survived Rios..............Danks will not be KW's end! The Rios deal has NOTHING on the Swisher deal
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:13 AM) Yeah, we get it. Or Beckham, or Molina, or Morel, or Viciedo, etc. Or he should have been fired for Teahen, Swisher trades, Hudson/Holmberg for Jackson and destroying Jake Peavy's career. . Do you have to bring those moves up right now?
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:11 AM) I would bat righty against Masterson. I don't know what his splits are but I hate hitting a fastball moving that much away from me Masterson destroys righties.
  6. Ha, let it hit you Escobar. How about we stop adding people to the big league roster out of Spring Training due to their performance there? Escobar has no business being in the majors.
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:08 AM) Danks contract could very well cost Williams his job. Not likely
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:06 AM) aka, not trading for Danks, or Rios, or Peavy, or Dunn. I wonder if they'd be interested in Thornton if Rivera is out (not as their closer, but to help as set-up man)
  9. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:05 AM) Would you rather have Buehrle for 4/~$50M and have dealt Danks? Neither?
  10. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:04 AM) Jesus. The United States didn't get screwed as much with Solyndra as we did with Danks. What were we thinking?? Two years of a mediocre record and ERA and then a crap year with an ERA in the mid fours, and we give him $12 million?!?! When he was "good", he was middle of the rotation quality at best and last year he was lower part of the rotation. I can't believe we paid so much Jon Garland, Part Deuce. Curse of 2008 with Alexei, Quentin, Gavin and Danks
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:03 AM) It's early enough that the Yanks might grab it Great, we're in Adam Dunn territory from last year with Danks now. Danks was pretty awful last year, so it's not like teams are going to be overly optimistic he's ever going to be more than a very expensive 3/4
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 4, 2012 -> 02:01 AM) JDINAA "John Danks is the best 0-8 pitcher I have ever seen" Hawk know he had a 5.25 ERA when he was 0-8?
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ May 4, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) The one time we give a pitcher a contract.... Funny that a lot of us were excited to see Peavy in the last year of his deal, and now he's turned it around. However, we're dreading Danks being under contract for such a long time now.
  14. This defense just f***ing sucks. De Aza plays so damn deep, and he still can't catch that? De Aza flat out is not a center fielder.
  15. QUOTE (Baron @ May 4, 2012 -> 01:56 AM) Sweet jesus Danks. Would have loved a rain out tonight to give him another day of rest. He's just throwing batting practice out there.
  16. Rios 3 for his last 25 now, and no extra base hits. He's struggling getting his arms extended again. Need him to get going again, as this offense is in a big funk.
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ May 4, 2012 -> 01:48 AM) Isnt Danks ERA approaching 7? Unearned run
  18. Yep, this is our #1 starter. He has absolutely nothing on these pitches, as I don't think he's gotten a swing and miss yet.
  19. As Manny Ramirez once said, there goes Danks' Gold Glove Award
  20. Carlos Marmol is terrible now
  21. Baseball America's latest issue had a scout's take on Mitchell, and there was some concern that his injury made him lose a significant amount of speed. I still think he'll have enough speed though to be a valuable MLB player, as I've always been impressed with how ball flies off his bat.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 3, 2012 -> 06:31 PM) LaHair with #7 13 for last 29 with 5 homers
  23. Fukudome and Escobar playing, Morel/Viciedo sitting
