  1. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 03:31 AM) No idea but both looked like goners off the bat. Hawk went nuts on Alexei's, and he totally no sold Viciedo's
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 03:29 AM) Would those balls that Alexei and Dayan hit have been out at USCF? Maybe Ramirez, no Viciedo
  3. His change-up is nasty, but our hitters can get to his fastball.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 02:16 AM) Ugh...Gavin better show up tonight... You don't see Konerko miss a pitch by that much usually.

    Alex Rios

    QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) Its nice that Rios is doing better, Im not sure that its Manto. Rios has done this before, you just never know what youll get. There was an article a few weeks ago that talked about how Manto made Rios realize he was trying to pull the ball far too often last year. You can't watch these games and not realize the team is using more of the field than in previous years.
  6. Want some proof that Manto is getting through to him? He had 10 hits to right field all of last year. This year, he already has 6 hits to right field. Between Rios and Konerko, you have two players who are just killing other teams by not overswinging and taking what the pitcher gives them.

    Still a long season ahead for Peavy, and there will likely be some bumps in the road health wise. I'm of the opinion that if he pitches great this year, you thank him for his contributions this year and let him sign a big 3 year deal with the Dodgers, etc.
  8. Let's get Gavin and Viciedo going tomorrow. Perfect match-up for Viciedo against the LHP.
  9. PEAVY! Just a dominating performance by the Sox.
  10. Joe Patterson of Arizona is off to a very bad start to the year. He's given up the same amount of ER that he gave up all of last year in 31.3 fewer innings.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 05:15 AM) Everybody's safe! And Alexei STILL hasn't learned to bunt. I'm scared he's going to A.J. Burnett himself
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 05:09 AM) Can we classify this as a real sign of life from Morel? If we only have to replace one of Morel/Beckham that'd be great. 3 hard hits balls by Morel tonight...I give Ventura a lot of credit for making the change
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 04:01 AM) Also leads to him pulling his head a bit. Not a good combo. He shot one to right field nicely in his first at bat, as he had better balance at the plate. The best thing that could happen for Viciedo is to hit a homer to right field. Maybe he changed his mechanics a little after hitting two homers during the early part of the season to left center?
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 04:00 AM) Viciedo seems to anxious to go out and get the pitch, lunging out a lot. Good observation, and it's leading to him jamming himself a lot.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 04:47 AM) "Too low, too low." Peavy got lucky that ball wasn't elevated. So did the o-zone layer
  16. Dunn did a nice job on that grounder of not going after it.
  17. Might want to avoid throwing Cespedes first pitch fastballs for the rest of this series.
  18. Damn, De Aza just barely missed an opposite field homer.
  19. Two hard hit balls for Morel tonight. Beckham should be bunting or attempting hit and run here.
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 04:34 AM) It's looking more and more like Peavy has to be the Sox starter for game one of the playoffs. Phil Humber says hi
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 03:06 AM) Gameday isn't working, updates anyone? Big double play...now man on 3rd, 2 outs
