  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) Valverde is such a jag Yeah, that was absolutely ridiculous.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:12 AM) Prince told GB he is not a miracle worker.........................Hawk calls tonight performance top 5 against Sox all year. It is, the Sox didn't even come close to scoring.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:08 AM) If this goes bad for the sox they will spin it on how they were never meant to be here and how this is a great season. Is that not true though? You know I hate that type of mentality as much as anyone, but no matter what happens this year, it's been a strong season. Something of note if the Sox don't make the postseason is that thankfully they didn't give up anyone who had a real future in the organization in order to get Youk, Liriano and Myers.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:06 AM) Don't make excuses for Reed, he gives up a run routinely He's had a solid year, but for all the taunting Valverde receives on here, his numbers are way better than Reed so far this year. The Tigers quietly have an excellent bullpen again, as they got rid of some of the guys who were getting rocked earlier in the year (Ballester).
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:05 AM) Not tonight everyone knows the fate in this one. Not cause of whether or not Myers would be effective, but because of his games finished clause.
  6. I think the board would have exploded if Myers was coming in Looking forward to seeing Heath pitch.
  7. Scotty Pods is batting 3rd for Boston tonight. Boston's not going to do the Sox any favors in the Wild Card hunt the rest of the way.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:58 AM) Austin Jackson is one heck of a player Yes he is. His slugging percentage is 1 point less than Konerko now. Damn Granderson trade has really given this franchise a boost. Jackson deserves MVP votes.
  9. I missed a few innings, but did the Sox try one bunt towards third tonight?
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 01:39 AM) Fuuu IP ban at another board What happened?
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:36 AM) Crain sure has been s*** of late. Almost Thornton bad. No doubt in my mind his oblique is bothering him again. He looks the exact same he did before he went on the DL.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:34 AM) Like it matters. We've seen this kind of late season funk before. This sweep is no different than the metrodome tailspins. Hell, they even tried to blow it in '05 and if it weren't for a dropped ball in KC , may well have done just that. But I remain hopeful that they will come home and find their mojo and still make a run at the post season. Just hate to see them play like they expect to lose. Hopefully they can have some huge crowds next week.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 01:33 AM) Does anyone swing first pitch more than that ahole? Throw a slider. It's truly amazing to me that KC swept this team with how awesome the Tigers 1-5 hitters are right now.
  14. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not going to like Denard Robinson.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:30 AM) More of a general statement that I would have started Danks from the get-go over Wise. Much like most of Soxtalk Most of soxtalk wanted more lefties in the lineup, and a decent amount I believe want Wise to get some of Viciedo's ABs when De Aza returns.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) Hell, I'll still go to my grave saying we'd have won that division in 06 if Mackowiak had never played CF. His defensive blunders really hurt the pitching and it seemed to snowball into a pitching "slump"
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) f*** Comerica Park That's a routine fly out anywhere.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 01:27 AM) I would have started Danks over Wise, though. Wise provided offense today but his hustle and defense continue to frustrate so it's tough to say what the right call is there. So you take out the 2nd best lefty in the lineup tonight for defensive reasons before the game even starts? Wise has done his job tonight at the plate.
  19. First pitch outs making life easy for Scherzer. Don't mind Viciedo swinging there though.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 01:25 AM) Sox were the '27 Yankees before the break and #9 offense in the AL after the break. Fixed
  21. Why are you running for Johnson here? Much more likely you need his bat in the 9th against Valverde than his speed hurting you this inning.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 01:22 AM) Rios has looked terrible as well in these 2 games. Scherzer has something like 11 starts with 9 or more K's this season. Soon to be 12. Max has probably been the second best pitcher in the AL over the last month or so besides Felix. His stuff is incredible and gives the Tigers two aces.
  23. Anyone see the story on fangraphs about our old pal Rafael Bettancourt and his approach vs lefties this year? Just awesome stuff
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) Well, the extra $75 million he got by refusing that extension probably keeps him pretty darn warm. Do you know what I was referring to with Soriano and warm climate?
