  1. To be fair to Ohman, he should never be in a situation where he has to face a righty. Why wasn't Sale in, and let him get the 6th and 7th? This isn't a game to be playing not to lose.
  2. The timing is this is awful, as we face some dynamite righty pitchers the next two weeks. I've been impressed by Flowers, but I'll be stunned if he's able to put up a batting average over .150 the next two weeks facing the likes of Jimenez, Carmona, Masterson, Ogando, Weaver, Felix
  3. Wow, hell of a night for Pirates in signing Josh Bell
  4. Wow, Nats sign Purke! It makes me sad tonight to see all these teams spending money on these tough signs.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 12:54 AM) VMart is so money. I still can't get over that the two teams that probably could have got Dunn if they wanted him, and they were rumored to be the top two contenders for him, were the Cubs and Tigers.
  6. QUOTE (joeb @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Saw Wes pitch last week, looks like he is very consistent with the delivery and release point. Sidearm/submarine lefty can be nasty in the right spot. Larussa loves those guys
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 12:23 AM) Tyler Kuhn and Josh Phegley back to Birmingham. Don't get it. Especially Kuhn. I don't get this organization
  8. And promptly homers in his first AB against Liriano while batting 3rd. If Delmon gets hot to finish the year, the Sox task of overtaking the Tigers will be nearly impossible.
  9. As much as I wanted Viciedo promoted a month ago, he's been brutal for a few weeks. Something obviously is not right with him, so I'm not going to lose sleep over him not being with the big league club right now.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) It's a shame that the organization seemingly isn't using that 1st round savings on some tougher signs, IE Gardeck, O'Shea, and many of the latter HS picks. Yep, it's pathetic...for me, this is the low point for our farm system. Mediocre draft (on initial view) and no starting pitching whatsoever in the farm system.
  11. QUOTE (Crash73 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Thanks GH for a refreshing point of view. If this teams gets hot at the right time, not even the East teams will want to face our pitching. I can pretty much guarantee that if you ask anyone on Yanks or Red Sox, they'd rather face the Sox instead of Tigers because of Verlander.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 09:38 PM) Is that a good thing? David Kaplan Big Z: "I received text messages of support from Sosa, Byrd, Ozzie, Jason Giambi, Pena, and Soriano." Also said he and Soriano are cool. Sosa, Byrd, Giambi and Pena....it's hard to write each of their names without including an asterix by it.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Anyone else not have a first round pick? Phillies
  14. So are the Sox going to end up spending less in this draft than anyone else?
  15. Coco Crisp to be Sox starting LF in 2012? That's a definite possibility, IMO
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) He'll have a good amount more protection in that lineup. I'd expect his numbers to get better. He's a better, cheaper replacement for Ordonez next year.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) Gotta think that was not a cheap move for them. Cole Nelson and a PTBNL

    2011 TV Thread

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) I'm working my way through the 6th season and I keep asking myself why I kept watching this show after the first season. Every single story line is either (1) unbelievable, even for these guys, (2) a repeat of something they've already done or (3) completely meaningless. It gets worse, don't worry. I can't believe the current final season has been as boring as this one has been.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 15, 2011 -> 06:25 PM) couldnt disagree more. This is only the start, people wanted longer programs that actually were interesting, had an air of believability to them, and they got it. This is the first act or the play, I cant wait to see what happens next Fair enough...it's been disappointing to me, but I'm not giving up hope. I'm still watching consistently, which is more than what I could say 2 months ago. Last night was the first non-WM PPV I've gotten in forever.
  20. Over the past month, it's so disappointing what's happened in the WWE since the second MITB ended.
  21. This makes total sense to me. Cooper won't stay around and be pitching coach if Ozzie leaves and he's not considered for the managerial job. Cora is Ozzie's boy, so he'll go to Florida also if he doesn't get a managerial job either. I'll tell you who would love Larussa, and that would be Ohman. He might make 160 appearances next year (yes, a slight hyperbole).
  22. Disappointing but sees they are building to Punk vs HHH
  23. Where do I sign up? I'm still holding out hope for an Ozzie for LoMo trade.
  24. Wow, how do you have no one warming up?
