  1. Oh man, Miller is brutal. Absolutely no need for two Loogys on the team. Anything more than AA fodder shouldn't be traded for him.
  2. So Toronto got Rasmus for Frasor, Stewart, Patterson, Dotel and Rzepczynski Hell of a deal by AA
  3. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) Colby Rasmus, Trever Miller, Brian Tallet and P.J. Walters for Jackson, Marc Rzepczynski, Dotel and Corey Patterson. That looks like a Playstation trade
  4. QUOTE (shakes @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 06:00 PM) I agree people are overvaluing Rasmus here, but I think it shows how little of value KW got for Jackson. He got nothing but salary relief for an earlier mistake, when he could have had a player with high potential that could have at least been easily moved. I am shocked so many are alright with this. I feel like the team took a step in the wrong direction and the same reactionary person may cause more damage soon. I like the deal cause it gets Teahen off the books, but like you said, it's all reactionary to make up for previous transactions that didn't work out.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) On this board? More than 90 percent, I guarantee that. He wasn't on the 2005 Sox team, so don't be so sure of that.
  6. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) one person mentions colby rasmus and all of the sudden the entire board, most which had little to no idea who Rasmus even WAS goes apes***, lol group think mob mentality here at Soxtalk Give me a break, 90% of us know who Rasmus is.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) So we now have a rotation that has 2 guys that struggle to make it past 6. Stewart will be starting in no time it seems. Wouldn't be shocked if Santiago starts a few games as well.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:46 PM) Wow, I take it back. I was reading something else. I thought Asher Wojciechowski was involved. As that is what I read at a Blue Jays site. Yeah, we dropped the ball here. I'm f***ing shocked. I'm taking a break from this team. Something I just thought of is that it's very possible the Sox envision an outfield next year of Rios, De Aza and Viciedo...and thus, don't feel like they had room for Rasmus. De Aza would be their slappy leadoff hitter, of course
  9. So can someone smarter than myself illustrate how we save 9.5 million from this?
  10. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) I'm going to say that yes KW could have easily bested this. Rz....is a very highly regarded lefty reliever in the majors this year, regarding his trade value.
  11. Did KW say anything about the finances involved in this deal?
  12. So dealing Jackson for Frasor and Stewart isn't terrible, and when you couple that with getting out of Teahen's deal...I like it assuming we didn't add salary relief.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:11 PM) Yeah, my tone has changed a little after learning Stewart was involved. I guess his long-term prognosis is that of a power reliever. Under the circumstances, I'll take it. Yep, he has some potential still. Like you said, better prospect than I anticipated KW getting.
  14. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) KW says Rios has been benched! FANTASTIC!
  15. If Stewart's pitching in PCL, then I don't really care what his numbers were. I remember Reds fans freaking out whent hey traded him for Rolen.
  16. Ironic that maybe Teahen's best moment on the Sox came against Jason Frasor last year.
  17. Stewart's not a bad addition...wouldn't be shocked to see him up in the majors the lst month making some starts.
  18. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) So from the USA today story, we are not getting a prospect from TOR, StL is, we get Frasor and $10MM in salary relief. Sox must be getting all of Frasor paid for. Wow, just freaking wow
  19. "All In" team to White Flag Part II....yet Kenny and Ozzie still have their jobs?
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) Thank you Adam Dunn and Alex Rios for ruining what could have been a magical year on the south side. And yet we're stuck with them the next few seasons without having financial flexibility to improve the team. We're f***ed
  21. Jackson and Teahen not on the roster card today, according to Cowley
  22. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:40 AM) fwiw, Frasor's contract has a 2012 club option at $3.75M So we'd be saving a little over a million for next year's payroll with this deal? Barf
  23. I'm sorry, but Meals should be suspended the rest of the year for that.
