  1. Shades of Peavy's last start against Tigers where he retired them easily the first time thru the order but then left far too many pitches over heart of plate.
  2. Beckham really got down the line quickly there.
  3. Not sure why Tigers didn't throw him a change-up, as that's been the pitch Verlander has hurt him with this year.
  4. The more obvious question is: why is Dunn batting after Konerko?
  5. That has to be Alexei's 10th 5-4-3 DP in the last month and a half
  6. If KW is unloading guys, he better pray for an L tonight
  7. Don't forget the rumor that Sox are dying to move rios to a corner position. If it is CQ traded then De Aza makes sense
  8. It takes seeing him live to realize how awful Rios' body language is
  9. I still think it is the lefty set-up man we haven't used in three days and the starting pitcher we haven't listed for his next start
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:53 AM) If KW could trade Rios and not eat any of the contract, as much as I don't care for him, he would deserve a lifetime contract. If he could trade him and eat 50%, I'd be thrilled. Heck, at this point, I'd be fine with eating 99% of it.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:51 AM) I don't get it. What moves would lead to this? Probably don't want to call up Viciedo now while he's hurt. Or maybe we can dream and pray that Rios got traded.
  12. See ya Carlos and Jackson and Thornton
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) MDGonzales Mark Gonzales Sox list Floyd as Friday's starter vs. Boston. Rest of rotation for Red Sox series TBA. See ya Edwin
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) Nah, mine shrunk so bad after 1 wash that I havent been able to wear it. Plus, he's proven to be a supreme douche since his graduation. How so?
  15. If Sale's future in the majors is as a reliever, that's ok. However, they need to give him a shot at starting to see if he can do it. Anything else would just be symbolic of the short-sighted nature of this organization.
  16. Well, that was rushed. If that's all for his "contract is up" angle, then what a crock.
  17. Dunn and Rios doing a great job since the ASB. Ozzie bunting was pathetic as well. The crowd here hates Rios

    2011 TV Thread

Entourage was pretty painful last night.
  19. Give me Jackson over Kuroda, but oh well. I wouldn't count out Red Sox possibly going after Jackson.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) When healthy Tony P was a versatile pitcher and effective. But, you could see earlier this year he was hurting. I don't expect him back in 2012 either healthy or nor Do you ever say anyone was bad?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) And by stroke of luck, we have "ready made" replacements for each of them. Yep, if we lose tonight's game, then root for a Tigers sweep (with Peavy going against Verlander, I don't think we really have to "hope" for a Sox loss). I'm happy to hear that KW is scouting the systems of Yanks, Phillies and Red Sox. Phillies and Yankees really seem to be the best fits for possible trades, with Quentin going to Phillies and Jackson/lefty reliever to Yankees.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) If the Sox can move TCQ, Jackson, and Thornton, that is $20 million in contracts gone, or about $8million this year. If they get back some quality kids in the process, they have just rebuilt on the fly again. The market has opened up perfectly for KW to make a killing with Jackson, Thornton and Quentin. The three most in-demand positions with fewest number of legitimate good players are starting pitching, lefty relief and power hitting outfielders.
