If the Sox can move TCQ, Jackson, and Thornton, that is $20 million in contracts gone, or about $8million this year. If they get back some quality kids in the process, they have just rebuilt on the fly again.
The market has opened up perfectly for KW to make a killing with Jackson, Thornton and Quentin. The three most in-demand positions with fewest number of legitimate good players are starting pitching, lefty relief and power hitting outfielders.
