  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:22 AM) Imagine if the Sox had signed Agon instead of Dunn and Konerko DHing. He wasn't a FA
  2. We'll take it! Now that was some brutal managing by the opposition...it's nice to be on the receiving end.
  3. Francona is more worried about getting Lester the win here than doing what's right, it would appear.
  4. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:06 AM) Morel at the plate looks like the short blonde kid from Hoosiers shooting free throws from between his knees He looks like a pitcher
  5. Hit the monster Morel. Actually, Morel could totally hit a 280 foot homer down right field line.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:03 AM) I thought it was first and second and nobody out, but I still would have taken a bunt with Lilly. I'm speechless
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:01 AM) That was a perfect time for a f***ing bunt, but we know how soxtalk hates bunting. Wait what? Have you been watching tonight?
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:59 AM) I'd rather he play left. As bad as Rios is, there's still upside. There's none with Pierre. But where does Viciedo play? Quentin's the one guy I hope we don't give up, but if Lillibridge is LF, then Viciedo is left out.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:54 AM) I think Hosmer might be a better player than Heyward, honestly. Stanton is a future 600 home run guy
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:53 AM) Very nice inning by Peavy. Indeed
  11. There's one thing that is clear ot me after watching the past few games...Lillibridge should be a full time starter so we can see if some amazing transition from a scrub to a MLB caliber starter has taken place. The ball jumps off of his bat better than almost anyone on the team, and he does a lot of little things that help you win games. I'm confident in saying he has more power than Rios, as Rios will continue to hook the ball off the end of the bat due to his ridiculous mechanics.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:50 AM) Fathom, have you seen what Hosmer and Bruce have been doing? It's so depressing to see all this young talent shining all over the league and we're, well, ya know. I'm shocked at how well Hosmer is playing. I thought he'd be a slap hitter his first few years, but he's driving the heck out of it. Bruce is just a great player, but it's pathetic to see how Dusty has killed another young starting rotation. That Brewers team is really good right now...might be most exciting team to watch.
  13. I love twitter. Just searching Ozzie's name gives you all sorts of Yankees fans saying how painful it must be for White Sox fans to have to deal with Ozzie and his bunting.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) I saw the replay of his swing looked to me like he barely moved it. It was more like a punch than a swing, but it was the right call.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:38 AM) Is there another AL team that attempts more unsuccessful/poorly executed bunts than we do? Morel's like 1 or 2 for 6 bunting this year.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:37 AM) OH that just pisses me off 1st Ozzie does his NL bulls*** ,righty who's figuring it out against a struggling lefty and calls for a bunt. like its the bottom of the ninth and all we need is one run. Then 2 terrible calls by the umps on the same play. Yea I know it's hindsight since Morel couldn't get the bunt down but knowing Pierre is up next its assinine. Play to break the game open . If Peavy holds the Red Sox to 0 runs the rest of the way I'll admit I was wrong but now I'm just fuming. Pierre clearly went on that pitch. Seems like he got distracted by the runners. Great rest of post though
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:35 AM) I've wanted Ozzie gone since last summer. Thing is, Fenway is a terrible park for Juan to hit with the LF being able to play so shallow. Trying to bunt the runner to third to get Juan up for one out is a very unlikely sac fly situation.
  18. I love the sign in the pregame for the Braves last night where one of the fans held up a sign that said "Stop Bunting!"
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:32 AM) How does a 3rd base umpire make a call while looking at home plate? That's actually a very difficult decision when you consider if there's a check swing, he has to be the one making the call. Just a fluke play. Of course Hawk hasn't realized yet how awkward of a situation it is.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:31 AM) Oh God. I'd love to hear your reason for disagreeing.
