  1. Also, why in the hell is our worst hitter batting 5th?
  2. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jun 5, 2011 -> 12:34 AM) Anyone actually think Rios can get anything done here? His swings are f***ing terrible. I can't believe we're on the hook for like 40 more million dollars with him. Hopefully he's forced to retire or something like that.
  3. Ugh, I despise Rios so much. He has nothing going for him with his swing. Walker needs to just start from scratch with him to salvage his career, as he's going to be out of baseball in a year or two if he doesn't improve. Also, he might be the laziest player we've had in a long time. He never, ever runs hard down the line.
  4. Very nice job of surviving there by Jackson. We need a bloop and a blast.
  5. Shocker that we are gutless thru three. Verlander is the new Johan
  6. Hey Balta what was the point about Jackson you said people are agreeing with you about now
  7. Verlander isn't sharp but we can't get a hit. Kudos to Beckham for keeping us in the game
  8. Last two starts cannot be helping his trade value
  9. Seems like there could be storms all night. I wouldn't mind getting an inning in the books and then a 2 hour rain delay.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) Yeah, but given how bad they both are (Pierre and Rios), I think we stick with Rios because we have a ton more invested in him than Rios. Yes, we could sit him here and there, because I agree with Hawk about playing the hot hand and not worrying about feelings, but we're not talking Barry Bonds playing for him here, we're talking about Juan Pierre. But Juan's actually showing improvement while Rios is just going through the motions and has been dreadful with RISP. Rios, especially on the road, has been killing this team.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) That tells us all we need to know about Oz's confidence in Dunn. AJ fourth and Dunn seventh. Wow. My prediction is we'll see a lot of high fastballs and a lot of swings and misses tonight by Dunn. Good news is I predict he'll hit a home run tomorrow.
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) I really loved hearing Hawk say that, because it is exactly correct. I just wonder if Rios is the guy that needs to be replaced right now. I am still not convinced. I saw you list this above, and Pierre is clearly outplaying Rios right now. I know I'm the king of hyperbole, but Rios is doing nothing to help the Sox win games. Also, if Ozzie has to choose between Rios and Pierre, we know who he's going to select. I'd much rather see Lillibridge coming up instead of Rios any day of the week.
  13. If you listen closely to Hawk and Stone, they're preparing the fans for Rios getting benched and Lillibridge being named a starter. Quite a few times yesterday, they were questioning Rios' effort to play the game the right way. Also, they kept talking about how when you're in a hole like the Sox are, you can't worry about hurting feelings and you play the guys who are playing your best.
  14. Darn, that's like 5 double plays the opposition has been able to avoid over the last week.
  15. Ok, time to start using offspeed pitches.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 03:01 AM) Matt Thornton is a high paid player on this team. You use him. Case closed IMO No one cares about how much money someone makes more than you do.
  17. Hopefully Sergio uses a lot of sliders in the 9th.
  18. That a boy Sergio. As Hawk said, Juan kept us in this game.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2011 -> 02:56 AM) You guys that never blame the player slay me. Matt is the goat there, not Ozzie. You're right, 6 straight hard hit balls off of the same person without being removed = great managing.
