  1. Sale in? Ozzie seems to be caught unprepared right now.
  2. This is just brutal. Bruney should have been brought in to start the 8th.
  3. They better not point to Humber and say his outing was poor
  4. Let's get that run back. Perfect hit and run opportunity.
  5. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) hell...at this point I'll take DV in LF, Lilli in Cf and Quentin in RF. why not? That would be too awesome
  6. Hawk ripping on Rios for not trying to move the runner over. Everyone speculates Pierre would be the one to lose his job, but it seems it's almost more likely that Rios gets benched and Lillibridge becomes CF (or the dreaded Juan to CF and Viciedo to LF).
  7. If Humber keeps pitching the way he is, I have no concerns about if he'll end up in the bullpen. It won't happen, they're not that dumb.
  8. That was one of Beckham's best swings of the year. Got the barrel thru the zone and hit it hard to left.
  9. Great at bats by AJ, Beckham and Alexei that inning! As for Juan...goodness he's annoying
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) This post says it all. Please make it its own thread and lock it forever. The bunt is a VALUABLE TOOL you FOOL. Sorry, couldn't resist the rhyme, didn't mean it to come out angry. I didn't know we had a starting rotation with Lincecum and Cain or a 3-4-5 with Hamilton/Vlad/Cruz
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 31, 2011 -> 03:54 PM) Bunting is an important part of a game. Sox need to get it down literally and figuratively. Ozzie is not playing dumb baseball There's no reason to be bunting before the 7th inning in the AL. Bunting at Fenway against this Boston offense so early in the game is just giving up outs and letting pitcher off the hook. Bunting before Juan Pierre is silly, as he rarely hits ball far enough for a sac fly.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 31, 2011 -> 01:35 PM) The irony is that Ozzie wasn't even the dumbest manager on the field last night. That was something, wasn't it?
  13. Peavy with a gutsy performance, and we had three very clutch hits tonight.
  14. QUOTE (bobryansson @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:55 AM) That shot of the W. Sox bullpen activity... I'm scared. Paniagua and Kevin Walker?
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:53 AM) greg's done a 180 this year. I figured he was serious. I respect greg in that he's extremely hurt with how bad the Sox have been playing, and he wants heads to roll. I honestly don't feel like he believes Ozzie deserves to go, and that's cool with me.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:49 AM) You can't have it both ways. You say fire Ozzie or I don't care if he gets fired then want to slurp him if on a rare occasion he does something right. Do you want him gone or not? You don't actually believe that greg wants to fire Ozzie, do you? Every time he says that, he says it with the caveat that a lot of other teams would love Ozzie and that he's made more money than any of us has.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:48 AM) Yes! Awesome performance from Peavy against an elite offense. When he kept ball down, he got a lot of easy outs. Really good effort by him, let's get him the win.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:46 AM) Do the Ozzie second guessers realize Peavy is still in the game and doing well? Greg, unless you've watched this entire game, I would suggest tonight isn't the night for you to be up Ozzie's rear end.
  19. And Peavy's still out there....barf! Don't care how he does this inning, there's no reason to put more strain on his arm.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:42 AM) I was using a bit of hyperbole. But it seems like he's incapable of this. He should be watching highlights of what his stance was like 4-5 years ago. He seemed to generate a lot more bat speed when we faced him on Toronto.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:39 AM) Has Rios put together 3 consecutive/solid at bats since the opening Cleveland series? He had a good game in Tampa and one at home against Minnesota I believe. He grounds out to SS so often due to his swing. He's made some good contact on pitches he drives to right, but he doesn't have enough power to get it over the outfielder's head.
  22. That a way to fight Peavy! Should be it for him, as he did a good job of not walking anyone tonight.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:27 AM) Casey Kelly > our entire farm How's Kelly been this year? Thought I read where Rizzo's been fantastic.
  24. Phew...Lillibridge seems to make every play interesting. This has got to be his last batter.
  25. Everything's up in the zone. We're supposed to have 3 lefty relievers for a reason I thought.
