  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) So people are seriously complaining about a hitter taking a walk to load the bases with only 1 out in an inning? Dunn has been beyond awful this year but complaining about him taking a walk in that situation is absurd. I don't get it either
  2. Should be an all hands on deck relief effort today.
  3. Ugh, hate seeing Omar against a fire baller.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) Any chance Rios and Pierre just decide to retire mid-season? Rios should be put on the DL due to his toe. As for Pierre, he'll continue to suck the life out of this offense for another 100 games.
  5. There is nothing flukish about Lillibridge's hitting. He's short with his swing this season, as he looks to be adopting Rowand's former swing.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) Well you are even now Gavin. Dig in. Yep, huge inning here for him.
  7. I dream of the day that Viciedo is in LF and Lillibridge is in CF (oh, and we have someone with power at 3b...I'm sick of getting absolutely no power from that position)
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:42 PM) This is so troubling in so many different ways I can't even begin to talk about it. I don't know if there is any explanation do you? Does anyone? That he's hit the wall with regards to bat speed, and his numbers the last few months last year were a telling sign?
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) Historically he's a worse hitter with runners on. Why? Because quite frankly in high leverage situations he's just not very good (cause he has a majorly flawed swing and he's going to struggle even more when pitcher X is more focused due to the situation, e.g., runners on). Dunn is the definition of a mistake hitter. Dude has made his career hitting jacks in low leverage situations against mediocre pitching. Put him up against good pitching and he'll get PWNED (as do many players, but he'll get PWNED more due to the huge flaw in his game). I remember for years you hated him. I thought he'd put up big numbers here but infuriate us with his inability to get clutch hits. I remember when we faced him on the Nationals, I liked him up with Thornton on the mound in a clutch situation cause he was such an easy out.
  10. Omar's in a huge funk. Morel seems like he could have a good chance to hit the knuckler, but Omar's had a lot of success against Wakefield.
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) How blind is management that they won't give him more opportunities? He's definitely a 20-20 caliber player with what he's showing this season. I'm actually optimistic when he's up, which is a far cry from the feeling of doom with Rios and Dunn.
  12. Lillibridge is so awesome now. Make him the every day starter!
  13. Hawk is going to snap one of these days if Quentin keeps popping up to the right side.
  14. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) Floyd, Danks or Jackson goes to the pen. flip a coin or play rock, paper, scissors. even considering Humber to the pen is illogical as hell. I see no reason not to stick with the 6 man rotation. Moving Danks or Jackson kills their trade value. Floyd can't go to the pen because he's an important piece of the rotation in the years to come.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) Eh, I've been a backer of the deal, but anytime you put someone making that kind of cash in the bullpen because they are ineffective in the role they were acquired to fill, then you have a fail. If Jackson ends up going to the pen, it's just one more piece of evidence that KW needs to be replaced.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) I really don't like Gavin Floyd. I hate when he throws a lot of fastballs.
  17. Gonna see a lot of Marquez today. Red Sox chances at scoring 10 runs today is probably 60%.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 06:00 PM) does it seem like hawk and stone are questioning the relief appearance by Gavin? They should be, as rarely does it ever work out for a team when a starter has to pitch in relief. Really disappointing effort by Gavin today.
  19. Bad luck with Wakefield pitching and wind blowing out. That makes the knuckleball even harder to hit.
  20. Very nice by Sale! And please Ozzie, play Lillibridge in CF tomorrow. Rios deserves to sit.
  21. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:57 AM) Kenny Williams should lose his job, this is our minor league system guys. Unbelievable LOL Bruney is not "our minor league system". He's AAA fodder, and he was called up cause our pen was hurting. I could care less if we have arms in our minor league system that can help with relief.
  22. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 01:58 AM) You think that would have made a difference in his effectiveness? The 8th gave the Red Sox some life when Humber was clearly out of gas.
