  1. It's time to bench Dunn. It's beyond obvious, as he's not coming close to breaking out of it. Still plenty of games left on his contract for him to hopefully at least become mediocre, but for right now...it has got to be Viciedo time.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 01:33 AM) Well crap. The guys who always kill us. It's always on the freaking change-up to Melky, I swear
  3. Well, that was quick. Nice meatballs served up by Buehrle. Juan didn't exactly get that ball in very quickly.
  4. Lucky it's not a tie game...that was a meatball.
  5. Dunn could not have been more behind on a 94 mph fastball. This seems like every game we have at KC. We get early lead, can't put it out of reach, KC gets a big hit to tie it...and then we lose in the 11th with our worst pitcher on the mound.
  6. Add Davies to the list of players Hawk praises that absolutely suck. You'd think we're facing Pedro by the way he's going on and on about his stuff.
  7. Alexei was really flying there. Nice 2 strike hitting by Alexei and Konerko
  8. Wow, this is pathetic
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) He's actually hitting just over .270 since early May. I'm surprised that his power numbers haven't improved...but yet, isn't that exactly what you'd do if you got benched every time you got a hit? It's not like he's changed anything at the plate. I think he was hitting the ball harder in April, but he's just gotten a few more bloop singles/bunt singles/infield hits the last few months.
  10. I noted this in the game thread, but Morel has 4 hits to left field at home all season. I'll flat out say that I don't think he's going to be a starting 3rd baseman in the majors. I just don't see the strength and offensive instincts to last.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) Whoa. I think you're letting Morel off the hook. Yeah, the more proven/talented players you mentioned have sucked ass. But I'm not letting Morel off the hook. You shouldn't, either. A .553 OPS is unacceptable no matter the circumstances. Yeah, I understand what Balta's saying about how we needed Morel just to provide some good defense while the 8 other hitters provide the offensive punch. However, there's really no excusing just how unproductive Morel has been at the plate. I thought it was interesting hearing the Tigers announcer on Saturday basically laughing at how bad his numbers are this season.
  12. Critic, you don't have to worry about Sin Careless for a while
  13. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) Totally. Their inflexibility in making ANY roster changes to help the offense is mind-boggling. Honestly, the more realistic lineup decision they can make right now is sending down Morel and calling up De Aza. It gives you more flexibility with pinch running and allows you to bench Rios once a week without having to make Lillibridge face RHP.
  14. For those at the event, was I the only one who thought people were going to act very stupid if CM Punk lost? I'm not talking about full-scale riots....but it was definitely an intense atmosphere.
  15. Don't forget that Morel in a platoon role is even more ridiculous since he's terrible against LHP.
  16. Yep, it's definitely time to send Morel down. Not sure if it's true, but I heard that Morel has 4 hits all season at the Cell to the left side of the field.
  17. I was amazed at the heat for Mysterio last night.
  18. Yes, the lines were insane last night for merchandise.
  19. This is one of those games that if we don't win, it really leaves the taste in your mouth that it's not our year and hopefully we'll become sellers in 10 days. Buehrle's been our most consistent starter while Davies is simply terrible.
  20. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 05:28 AM) To the guys who went to Allstate, how big was the entrance pop and 3 count pop for Punk? 3 count pop was insane. Entrance pop was very strong, but the booing for Cena was even louder.
  21. Did it seem like Punk messed up a ton of moves?
  22. So crowd came across good on TV?
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) That's one or 2 plays in a 9 inning game. Sox hitters choked. Lexi choked. Sox are flawed. Wow
  24. Leyland won Detroit this game by putting runners in motion with Cabrera up and a full count. Really bad job by Ozzie of not taking advantage of the Valverde/VMart battery. Time to go win 2 of 3 against KC.
