QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:44 PM) oh hes a tool all right Hey doc, do you know if the Sox organization feels like they regret bringing in Rios?

Did you know the combined OPS against LHP of our 2 and 3 hitters today is nearly .730?

Looks like the usual Sox start so far. Dunn batting third against a lefty is inexcusable. Our lineup continues to be putrid, yet it seems like Ozzie is getting more stubborn with it.

Reminder: Vote for Paulie
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 05:10 PM) I just had a small plane go over me pulling a banner saying "Vote For Paul Konerko." Are fans behind this? Maybe the one or more of the players? Pretty cool anyway. That's fantastic!

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) I had a dream last night that the Sox finished the season with 103 wins. It was pretty vivid and, in the dream, they were this same exact team and went on an unbelievable run. So, maybe I have some supernatural powers? We'll see. I had a dream last night where James Long, a Sox rookie, hit a home run in a game at Yankee Stadium. Peavy got roughed up, and Phil Humber got the loss in relief.

Sox scouting Brandon Beachy

Greg Walker signed to long term extension....
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) Sox put the masses of Soxtalk in charge of them. The whole team would be cut within a week. But Eric Chavez, Reggie Wilits and David Cook would become full time starters

Greg Walker signed to long term extension....
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) But what if they traded Paulie, Alexei, and Sale for a package of Bartolo Colon, Derek Jeter, and Jorge Posada! At least we'd get to see Minka Kelly a lot

Greg Walker signed to long term extension....
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) The only thing that would make me quit watching games all together is if they announced the team was moving. Other than that I figure bad baseball is better than just about anything else on TV in general. I really do agree with this. Even when team is going bad, there's certain things that can get you excited (ie: young player doing well). I actually enjoyed the end of 2007 a lot when we got to see Fields put on a power display.

How Will Dayan progress in his MLB career?
QUOTE (since56 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) With all due respect to you I would have to say it was a fail. He did not stick because he could not field the ball, and he had too little plate discipline. Both are necessary in baseball. Did any of the players he is compared to at the top of this string ever succeed by getting sent down after breaking in? He certainly did not fail last year when he was up with the Sox.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
greg, I know you hate the Royals like I do the Cubs, but just take a breather right now. It's fine, if we win tomorrow and split the Twins series, we're in good position heading into the 2nd half.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
Is it me, or has Sale just destroyed lefties lately? Good to see him pitching better of late.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:22 AM) Ya certainly Peavy's option will be declined, I thinks its like 22 million option, with a 3 million buyout. But could still see White sox re sign Peavy to a lower contract. How much do cheerleaders make these days?

7/5 Sox v. Royals
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:19 AM) Lilli with 4 K's, 7 lob. Dunn = lost. Beckham is a .240 hitter, at best. we had sooo many chances to score tonight with just a base hit. We wait around for the bomb and lean so hard on our pitching. Something's got to give. It just has to. We wait around hoping for a 3 run homer on a team without much power (lineup tonight especially). Sure, we have an above average number of homers, but that's mostly due to Konerko/Quentin. Our 7-8-9-1-2 tonight just isn't going to hit the ball out very often, and in our park, that's a recipe for a .500 record.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
SS2k or J4L or anyone else...how many more years do we have Peavy and Rios for? I thought I heard Peavy has one more year before an option that we'll surely decline, and Rios has 3 more years after this season.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:15 AM) he got Butler swinging on cutter and Moustakas swinging at curveball but the typical slider away to the righty K was not there in fact not there for quite some time Has it ever been there in a Sox jersey? I think a lot of people who didn't see him often in San Diego would be amazed at how nasty his slider used to be like 5 years ago. You look at him now, and it's pretty average. I actually don't know how he gets a majority of his hitters out.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:09 AM) Matt Treanor > Jake Peavy I missed the first and third innings, but did Peavy get anyone to swing and miss at his slider? The old Peavy would have had no problem getting Treanor on a slider in the 6th inning.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
That's another really bad loss. You have your high priced pitcher going against someone with such a bad career winning percentage, you should assume you win that game. 4 two out RBIs for them, and we get nothing yet again from our DH/CF spots.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
Good news for Alexei is they couldn't turn the double play again.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:05 AM) Dunn should be scrapped until Sep. Combined with Lillibridge that is not exactly Murderer's Row. Tough to win with that lineup. Something that should open some eyes is that Juan is playing good and we're still not scoring a lot of runs.

7/5 Sox v. Royals
Walker should be proud of Dunn popping up to left and Quentin to right. We don't see that enough.
