  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:44 AM) Hey, fathom, would you trade Beckham for Escobar? I would. No, cause we already have Alexei.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:44 AM) Just like Ozzie and his 2 outs man on first, he is going. We should never expect a fastball on 3-2. We act so shocked when we get the full count breaking pitch. Agreed, Twins have been doing this for years against us.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) THAT MAN IS A f***ING ALL STAR I'm a big fan of Quentin, but it's a strange world we live in when he's an All Star and Konerko isn't.
  4. There's one! Paulino should be the perfect pitcher for our fastball hitting lineup.
  5. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 12:36 AM) Thanks for nothing, Jake. Could you imagine if he wasn't pitching with intensity how bad he'd be?
  6. I miss the Peavy from the Padres that had a plus slider. This Peavy has no plus pitches, and seemingly a mediocre slider. Sox have no one to blame but themselves for a fatigued arm with him, as they really wore him out the last two weeks.
  7. He has nothing out there. Arm has to be tired
  8. Really dumb two strike pitch when you need a ground ball or strike out
  9. Paulino has dynamite stuff, we just can't help him out. Morel swinging at two pitches at his shoulders is not wise.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:36 PM) If you did a Rios/Quentin for Beachy/Lowe and then flipped Beachy for Bourn I could live with Pierre/Bourn/Viciedo for the rest of the year. Then pray De Aza or Danks can make strides for next year. Oh heck no, I don't want two slappy hitters on the team. Trading Quentin and getting Bourn in return would be a really, really bad trade.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) I do not find her attractive at all. I thought the outfits made her more attractive than she really is. #1 hottie in the world though? I disagree

I had no idea how big of a case this was until I was in Florida a few weeks ago. They literally had 24/7 coverage of the trial.
  13. Nice effort danman. I think Sale will be in starting rotation, and I can't picture a situation where Rios is around come 2013.
  14. Pretty funny listening to Boers and Bernstein rip on Peavy today relating to his request for more intensity.
  15. Rios benched tonight for Lillibridge!
  16. One thing that should be noted is a lot of the times, we rip on the Sox players in late inning situations for swinging out of their asses. AJP's two strike swing last night was phenomenal, and he accomplished exactly what he set out to do with that swing. Him and Pierre have really played well the last 10 days or so.

I know Rosie is a terrible actress in Transformers 3, but goodness, she's good looking in some of those outfits.
  18. AJP tried to force a balk with Teahen up, as he started sprinting down the line on the pitch. Carlos Lee would have gotten picked off.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) I'm sure the Cardinals are just going to say "f*** it, let's get worse, get older, pay more money and still try and win the Central." Especially when they have a great 4 outfielder tandem now with Pujols back. Rasmus isn't going anywhere, and let me also say he'd drive us nuts. He swings and misses a ton.
  20. Something I've noticed about Rios lately is that it seems to not be a natural instinct for him to hustle. It's like he had to remind himself to run a pop up out in Colorado the day after he got benched. Then in Chicago, he had a soft hit up the middle (that Castro almost fielded) where he was jogging to first the second he hit the ball.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) I'll continue to give AB's to the guy that plays the best CF defense on the squad, isn't old or past his prime, and has an extended history of major league success. By all means, Rios isn't amazing, but he is the best CFer the Sox have. And without commenting on what he did over the weekend, the past two weeks he's been hitting the ball hard, albeit without much luck. Sure he's had a lousy first half of the season, but permanently benching him in favor of De Aza and Lillibridge would be a far worse decision, imo. Lillibridge is the best defensive CF we have on the roster, IMO. Also, I can't remember the last time I saw Rios hit a ball hard. Everything seems to be weakly hit, as pitchers are throwing him slow stuff away and he's flying open so fast. This has been nearly a full season slump for Rios, and when you think about it, he's been absolutely mediocre appoximately 75% of his time with the Sox. I think you get just as much production from a platoon of De Aza and Lillibridge the rest of the way.
  22. To be honest though, I'm sure if Rios got traded (which we know will never happen), then the CF platoon would be Lillibridge and De Aza (who Hahn loves)
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Man, that turns into a big complex deal awful quick. That is the type of thing that gets done at the winter meetings, not in July. Think of it this way...you're not trading Quentin for another pitcher if you're planning on having 7 starters on the roster.
  24. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) Sorry, just noticed the catch-all convo. Posted too quickly. This would be horrible. Who is going to play CF? Lillibridge? Rios is having a horrible year, but why sell him low, when we have no reasonable replacement, for an older player to add to an already crowded pitching rotation, and get no salary relief in return? Rios is better than he has been playing, no use for a bad contract swap here. Maybe the Sox just want to get him off the roster? And also maybe they have a good deal lined up for Danks they want to execute, but they don't want to do it and rely on Peavy's health? You want to know who our CF could be? Long time Sox killer Melky Cabrera is supposedly on the market.
  25. How much money does McLouth have left on his deal? I'd rather just trade Rios for him, but I don't think the money is nearly equal.
